A quick guide to the ever-moving places you’ll need to go

As veteran Wilkes students know, the locations of various important offices and services like to move around to keep students on their toes, not to mention perpetually in tears. Here’s a quick update on the location of some of the more important services you’ll utilize on campus.

Please note, Wilkes is like Hogwarts, this may be inaccurate again by tomorrow night!

Student Services:

Located in 141 South Main Street, right next to our fancy new Gateway… I honestly don’t know what they do here now that the Registrar and Bursar moved out… but there’s usually a box of tissues if you’re crying trying to find where you’re supposed to be, that always helps.

The Registrar:

Located in Capin Hall, 165 S. Franklin St. This place is where you go to fix scheduling problems, as well as add or drop any last minute adjustments to your schedule. Situated at the other end of our fancy new Gateway, enter from the side, the front door’s always locked to make sure students go around several corners before reaching the desk.. Don’t worry, it IS in there…. Somewhere…

The Bursar:

22-48 W South St. This is a new one, it’s not even on the campus maps yet. You’ll end up here when you inevitably have to give the school money, be it a lab fee or a parking ticket. Beware the tiny vestibule just inside the front door, anyone who’s wearing a large backpack or is older than 12 may have difficulty navigating the space before entering the office proper.

Human Resources:

152 South Main St. HR now resides in the bottom floor of one of the towers that composes the aptly named University Towers on Main. You’ll end up here at some point if you secure any kind of work study position on campus. And no, the door isn’t stuck. They’ll buzz you in.

In case your GPS is acting up, I’ve fiddled with this Google Earth image using the cheesy paint software included on every computer ever built. Student Services is marked in red, The Registrar in blue, the Bursar in yellow, and HR in green. (I heartily apologize if you happen to be colorblind).

That’ll do it for important offices and crying places. If you spot any of these guys switching offices again just try to scare them back inside.. or just tell everyone they moved. Whichever is easiest.

To those who celebrate, you just spent an entire day cooking an elaborate meal with all of your favorite foods. You probably ate your body weight in pumpkin pie and mashed potatoes. What happens now? 18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
