With its southern hospitality and delectable comfort food, the South is a place where history was made and souls were found. Thankfully, I have been fortunate enough to spend some time down here in the Southern part of the nation. And because of it, I have learned all of the reasons why the South is the best place to live and how truly grateful I am that I crossed that Mason-Dixon Line years ago.

1. Manners

And yes boys, those are still a thing. "Southern Hospitality" is REAL.

2. "Y'all," "Fixin' too," and "Bless y'er heart"

These are about the best three words anyone could ever incorporate into their vocabulary, like ever.

3. Sweet Tea

This is basically a staple in your diet. There is a ton of sugar in it but I mean, what's not to love?

4. SEC Football

Football is a religion in this country—and not just any kind of football, but SEC football. If you are not interested, or do not know much about it, you should probably leave while you can.

5. Faith and Culture

It is comforting to be around so many people with the same beliefs as yourself. There is such a sense of culture and freedom in the South, and what an actual blessing it is to come together with people who cherish their beliefs, and never apologize for it. They don't call this place the Bible Belt for nothing.

6. Attire

Game day attire is no joke people. Dresses, skirts, hats, pearls–the whole get up.

7. Weather

You get all of the seasons in the perfect amount in the South. Summers are hot, but not as hot as Florida summers. Winters are cold, but never as cold as Colorado winters. The South really is the best of both worlds.

8. History

So much went down here back in the early 1900's, and even before that. You can literally feel the sense of history just with the footsteps you take in this part of the nation.

9. Colleges

College campuses in the South are beautiful, no one can argue with that. Between engraved brick buildings and freshly cut grass, one would be crazy not to want to embrace their education in the South.

10. Food

One word my friends–CARBS. And who on Earth would be crazy enough not to love those? Soul food is the best food, and some of the best of it is whipped up here in the heart of the South.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
