You've decided to visit New York City, but you don't know what to do while you're here. If you need some entertainment ideas for your trip, look no further. Even if you live in NYC and you're just bored, here are 10 Things You Should Do While Visiting the Big Apple. Make sure you take the MTA Subways and Buses to get to all these places to truly feel like you're a part of NYC. All of these places on this list will have you feeling like a New Yorker by the end of your trip.

1. Empire State Building

This is definitely one of the most iconic places to visit while in New York City. Everyone knows the Empire State Building! To go all the way to the top of the building, to the 86th and 102nd floors, it will cost $52 for an adult ticket.

2. Times Square

Here's another iconic place to visit while in NYC. It's been referenced too many times to count in movies and TV. There's many things to do just in Times Square. You can visit the M&Ms store, take pictures with the many character roaming around 42nd Street, check out Madame Tussauds, and more.

3. Coney Island

Located in Brooklyn, Coney Island is a great place to visit with the family. There's so much to do here. You can relax on the beach, check out the New York Aquarium, or have fun at the amusement park, Luna Park. While there, you definitely need to ride the Cyclone, Coney Island's historic wooden coaster.

4. Bronx Zoo

The Bronx Zoo is definitely a family favorite. This is another great place to visit with the family. I've been here too many times to count and it's always fun. A good day to go is on Wednesdays because it's free admission to the general park. If you would rather go another day, the cost for an adult ticket is $33.95. There's a couple of other attractions that you have to park extra for, like the petting zoo.

5. Broadway

As I previously mentioned, Times Square is full of things to do, but Broadway is definitely one of the most memorable ones. If you're in New York City, you should go see a Broadway show. I saw my first one a few years ago and it was absolutely amazing!

6. Yankee Stadium

If you're a baseball fan, this is a great place to visit. It's a beautiful stadium located in the Bronx. The Yankee Stadium currently standing is the new one that was opened in 2009. Come and catch a game while you're here.

7. American Museum of Natural History

I LOVE the Museum of Natural History! This is one of my favorite places in New York. I've been here so many times. They have a lot of hands on exhibits here which is great especially if you're visiting with kids. Admission for adults is $22, but if you have a student ID, you can save money and pay only $17.

8. Lower East Side Tenement Museum

If you're a big U.S history buff, like me, you'll love this museum. These tenement buildings are a U.S National Historic Landmark which used to be homes to real people. There are different tours you can go on that put you in the perspectives of the immigrants' that used to live there. Prices for admission vary on the tour you choose.

9. Battery Park

I had to throw Battery Park on this list especially because this is where my parents first met. Besides possibly finding your love interest, there's so much to do here. There's events in the park and many places to eat. You can even take a boat ride around New York City from here.

10. Night Life

You can't leave NYC without checking out the nightlife. The city is full of night clubs and bars to party like a true New Yorker. I guarantee you'll have a great time with your friends.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.

Moms are super heroes dressed in yesterday's clothing and they deserve an award for that.

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.
