Welcome To Life Tips 101, My Name Is Nick Miller And I've Done Things. I Wrote Half A Book About Zombies.

My name is Nick Miller and

(Nick internally losing his mind: NOOOO! I forgot my notes at home! It's okay, act natural). Okay everyone, I am totally prepared for class today *begins to sweat profusely*

On second thought... Pablo, my ever so handsome and intelligent star student who took this class of mine last semester, will take over... *Nick immediately begins to "gracefully" moonwalk away to prevent the class from seeing his horrific case of back sweat*

Don't be alarmed my friends. This isn't the first time that this has happened. I'd actually be surprised if it were to not happen. You gotta love him though, he has certainly made some progress. This only happens about every 3 classes now. It used to happen almost every class. *Light-bulb moment* Which brings me to what life tip I can lead us through today in the absence of our beloved professor. This is definitely one of the many tips that has stuck with me from Professor Miller's Life Tips course.

There may be times where we may feel like Nick Miller from New Girl and think we are not successful adults. We might see other people our age, maybe even younger, having accomplished so much more than us already. We might think to ourselves, man, they sure do have their life together and I'm just here like "Merp". At times, we may feel that we have only taken a few tiny steps on our journeys. We might even feel that we have strayed from our intended paths completely.

Do not fret my friends! We need not worry about where we are in our individual journeys in relation to those around us. We don't even necessarily need to worry too much about where we are on our journeys in general.

Let us not lose sight of the joy to be found through our journeys by worrying too much about our destination. And you know what? We don't always have to take ginormous steps towards our destinations, it's perfectly okay to take baby steps every now and then. We don't always have to roll a 6 and move 6 spaces. It's okay to roll a 1 and move only 1 space. What we forget sometimes is that it doesn't matter how many steps we take or how big those steps are. You know why? Because each step we take, no matter how small of a step it may be, still adds up and brings us that much closer to our goals. Think about it. Many of the people we see in movies, the people who started big name companies, the people that have made history in one way or another didn't start off at their destinations. Some people may have it a bit easier than others but nonetheless, we each have our own journey comprised of steps of all sizes, twists and turns, detours and roadblocks.

No matter where we are on our journeys, let us not forget to enjoy it. Let us keep in mind that we will get to where we want to be, where we are meant to be, in time. And let us keep in mind that each of our individual journeys don't have to look or be the same. We should respect each others' journey no matter how different it may be than our own. Not only should we respect it but we should encourage each other as well and wish each other well on our journeys.

And in the end, we can look at ourselves in the mirror and say...

10 Things Only Equestrians Understand

Yes, it IS a sport. Yes, I fall all the time. No, I do not ride in jeans with a cowgirl hat on.

Growing up I have always wanted to own a horse. My grandparents own a well known equestrian facility in Georgia, so I have been riding since I was born. A bond between a person and their horse is a bond so strong that it cannot be broken. Everywhere I went I wanted to be around horses, even forcing my family to go on trail rides during vacations. Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember has taught me great responsibility, as well as 14 things that all equestrians can relate to.

College is super hard. Between working, studying, and having a social life, it feels like a struggle to just keep afloat.

I understand. When you feel like your drowning and there's no way to stay afloat I understand that it feels like everyone else is doing just fine. I understand all the frustration, long nights in the library, and that feeling that you want to just throw in the towel. I understand that sometimes it's too hard to get out of bed because your brain is already filled with too much information to remember. I understand because I am also feeling pretty burnt out.

No Matter How Challenging School Gets, You Have To Put Your Health First — A Degree Won't Mean Anything If You're Dead

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.

Sometimes my brain just starts turning on an idea and it doesn't want to stop.

I don't know if it is related to my anxiety, perfectionism or depression. I don't know why it happens. It's frustrating, it's painful and it stops me from functioning.
