Hello, September

Because Fall.

Hello, September

Here’s to September,

A toast to the month that brings us the best season of the year: Fall.

Here’s to the trees changing colors its beautiful burgundy, yellow and orange hues. To then fall from the tree so we could rake up the leaves and dog pile in them (without getting a stick up your ass). And here’s to pissing off my dad because instead of cleaning the yard like we were supposed to, we just made an even bigger mess.

Speaking of mess, here’s to your favorite latte: May your mocha leave no rings on your desk, or spill to your laptops doom.

Or anything or anyone for that matter. We don’t want to start off the season with coffee or tea burns do we?

Here’s to September, because it’s not August. It’s still hot as the devil’s toe nails now and I feel like I’m melting every time I step outside for my classes. I’m praying that at least by the second week of September it’s going to be cooler, because it would make no sense for it to continue to be so blood boiling hot in this month unless it is for sure that the apocalypse was near.

And I’m not ready for that.

Anyways, September hurry up and give me a reason to wear my flannel shirts.

Here’s to being able to layer your clothes and wear dark lipstick.

Everyone that knows me knows that I love my dark makeup looks and I’m tired of having to wait on the harvest moon to wear wearable smoky eyes to class because it’s not ‘cool enough’ outside and it wouldn’t make sense to wear my makeup that way now unless I wanted my face to melt off.

I don’t want my face to melt off. It’s barely cool enough for me to wear mascara now! I have to hold back on my grade A makeup skills because summer weather is still holding on by a string.

Bringing us to the next reason I’m excited for September: the rainy days. Rainy days in Fall are SO much better than rainy days in the summer time. In the summertime, you don’t know what to do because it’s raining outside so your first thought is to wear a jacket until you walk outside and you can’t breathe because now you have too many layers on. Fall rainy days are perfect:

It’s not humid, it actually feels better outside than it does in your house; and it’s more comfortable to sit by a nook in your house with a blanket and curl up watching your favorite TV show or reading your favorite book while drinking your favorite drink from Starbucks.

Yaaaas.

Most importantly, here’s September because of October.

Don’t get me wrong I appreciate September, but there shouldn’t be an argument here. 88% of people that are happy September is here is either because of their birthdays, or the fact that October is the next month.

October brings more fall. Which also brings a holiday. That holiday being Halloween.

A holiday that brings me pure joy.

So let’s welcome this month with open arms for all the benefits that it will bring.

Except Pumpkin Spice.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

singing
Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
