Weird Habits I Have Because Yes, I Know, I'm A Weirdo

Hopefully I'm not the only one who does these things...

Weird Habits I Have Because Yes, I Know, I'm A Weirdo

Hello guys! My name is Terrion Newton and I am here to openly discuss my weird ass ways of living. For so long, I hid behind a closet, not really sharing my weird habits with the world. But a new day has come, and I am ready to expose THE TRUTH! You ready?

1. Using another soap bar before finishing my current one...

I have talked to a few of my friends about this... and I can admit that it is a little weird. So... I prefer bar soap over body wash, probably because of my weird habit now that I think about it. Normal people would probably wait until their bar soap is extremely small before they start to use another one right? Well, that isn't the case for me! I use it until it has reached a certain point, then I open another bar of soap, use that one until it has reached a specific point, then put them both together. Don't ask me why I do it, I DON'T EVEN HAVE AN EXPLANATION! It's just who I am, accept me or not.

2. I blow my nose for no reason...

I rarely get sick, HONESTLY. The last time I had a cold was freshmen year during the Christmas break, 2015. I feel that my immune system is THE SHIT; then again, I do take vitamins as often as I can so maybe that is why. Anyways, I blow my nose even when I do not feel mucus in it. Usually, I blow it in the mornings and before bedtime. I get the urge to do it, I don't like the thought of build up. So....am I officially weird to you now? Ha! Well, there's more.

3. I crack my fingers and toes all throughout the day...

This may be one of the less bizarre ones I guess. I like to feel... loosened up and stretched out. One way I make sure I feel this is by cracking my bones. Along with my neck and back, cracking my fingers and toes make me feel more relaxed, less tense. Wait... is that weird? I mean I know people do it, I just feel like I somehow stand out because I possibly do it more. But... I have no way of finding that out; I would literally have to survey everyone on the planet who is capable of doing this activity and finding those who actually do it. Yup, too much work, not gonna happen on my end.

4. When I listen to music alone, I skip back and forth in an open space...

I LOVE MUSIC! Who doesn't? I own a Bluetooth speaker, it has nice quality. When I'm free and I can listen to music through it, I definitely take advantage of the opportunity. Music makes me feel so good inside that I just start to skip whenever I'm listening to it... if I am alone. That is one main reason I love going home honestly. My house provides way more space to do so; I can't really do it in my dorm because my roommates are usually always around, walls are thin, and so are the floors.

5. I don't brush my teeth...

Ha! You fucking thought! That would be gross! Ewww, imagine my breath. I actually take dental hygiene serious. I brush in the morning AND night; I also floss twice for my top and bottom teeth. SAY CHEESE!

5 Things To Do That Are Better Than Writing A Paper

Don't waste your time trying to write that paper when there are so many more interesting things you could be doing.

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?

I can barely remember back when I was the only child. Most would say it’s because it is extremely difficult to remember things as a toddler but I would say it's because I was bored until my sister came along. My mother always says how important the "sister bond" is and with every year that passes I realize how right she is. Instead of writing a novel about all of the wonderful things there are about having a sister I decided to list a few of them instead.

It is the time of our lives that we are beginning to enter the adult world and most of us, if not all of us, have no idea what we are doing. It's like starting a video game, but skipping the tutorial. We're all just running around aimlessly hoping we accidentally do something right that moves us along the right path. Now that graduation has just happened, or is right around the corner for some of us, it's time to start thinking about how we are going to take care of ourselves once we are on our own.

If you’re anything like me, you love a good cup of coffee. My coffee always comes from Starbucks; I refuse to drink it from anywhere else. Over the years, it’s become one of my biggest addictions. College involves a whirlwind of emotions, whether it’s from the stress of an assignment (or twenty), or from fighting with your roommate. It can be overwhelming at times and it’s important to take a step a back and calmly think things over. Maybe gain some perspective.
