My Weight Gain Journey

I am tired of being skinny

I have started a weight gain journey. I know that is pretty bizarre for me to do, but I have been skinny all of my life.

I am sick of being skinny and I want some meat on my bones to truly be happy with myself. Most people think there is nothing wrong with my body and think I am crazy to even start this journey. But I am doing this journey to make myself feel good in my own body.

A lot of people do not realize that there is a such thing as skinny shaming.

I have been shamed for being skinny all of my life. I have been called so many unpleasant names for being skinny and believe it or not it takes a toll on my self-confidence level.

Me being so skinny are reasons that I have some self-esteem problems. I always caution what I wear because I just do not want to look like a stick in clothes. I just feel like a walking stick sometimes. When I worked at Olive Garden a while ago I used to get so many "jokes" about my size. One lady even asked if I was anorexic. I just got so tired of the shaming and just decided to go ahead and try this journey out.

Before my weight gain journey I was 107 pounds, I am also 5'5. Currently, I am 120 pounds and I have 10 more pounds to go to reach my goal. There are many methods I use to gain weight.

The first method I use to gain weight is lifting weights. Lifting weights brought muscles and me a more firm shape. I enjoy working out and do this regularly so this method was a breeze.

My next method is drinking Boost Plus. It is so hard drinking these drinks. There are absolutely gross to me and I feel myself almost throwing up every time I drink one. I have to not only force myself to drink them, but also mentally prepare myself. I drink two of these a nights and I definitely saw results. I gained 5 pounds in a week's time. The only bad thing about drinking boost is that it is so expensive. So I recently stopped taking boost. One pack of boost plus cost close to ten dollars at your local supermarket.

Another option is amphetamine. I have been using Amphetamine for about a month now. Amphetamine has helped me gain about 5-7 pounds. The cons of Amphetamine is that it will make you really sleepy for the first three days of taking it. Amphetamine is a cheaper solution for me than to take boost plus every day. I am on my second bottle of amphetamine and I am hoping to get to my weight goal with this second bottle.

My last method that I use is to eat 3,000 calories plus a day. There are plenty of reviews on Youtube that will help you out. All in all, I hope this article helps people that are trying to gain weight.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
