New hairstyle, new attitude.
If you haven't seen the "Starboy" music video by the Weeknd, then you are missing out. The song starts with an electronic beat for a good ten seconds, then transitions to an upbeat duo along with the Weeknd's brilliant lyrics that gets people tapping their feet. The amazing part about the song is that it's produced by Daft Punk, which probably blew away so many listeners. The music video premiered on Youtube about a month ago and now has over 170 millions views. The video shows a scene of an intruder and the Weeknd sitting at both ends of a table. The intruder ends up killing the Weeknd by putting a bag over his head, which doesn't allow him to breathe. As the murderer unmasks himself it appears to be the Weeknd with a new hairstyle, suggesting a symbol of a new him.
The other song that has been getting incredible views is "False Alarm." The song begins with what seems to sound like an 80s funk beat. His lyrics talk about a girl who goes after men with money and power, then breaks his heart as he is about to fall in love with her. The "False Alarm" represents a girl who men need to watch out for. The music video was published on Youtube three weeks ago and has over 36 million views. Although the video doesn't relate to the song much, it shows an entertaining first person view of a man who is robbing a bank with a crew.
With these two songs already out, it gives me excitement for what his new album "Starboy" has in store for his fans. There is no question that the Weeknd is one of the greatest R&B singers and with his new album coming out it will be a good one to purchase. According to the Billboard, the Weeknd might have teamed up Justin Timberlake on one of his tracks. The Weeknd stated that the producers from his 2011 mixtape "House of Balloons" will be reunited with him. The "Starboy" album is set to be released on ITunes November 28. Here is a look at the album's cover art:
