Every morning, my roommate will catch me listening to The Weeknd's new album Beauty Behind the Madness that was released on August 28, the exact date that has changed my life forever.
This album includes the top hits "Earned It" (that was featured as a song in 50 Shades of Grey), "Can't Feel My Face" and "The Hills." But the songs that weren't debuted as singles are not given enough credit. When I say this is the hottest album I've ever listened to, I mean it. I have never been the type to download an artist's whole album, just the songs I know, but for Beauty Behind the Madness, that isn't the case. I know every single song on it and can sing the words to you without even having the song playing -- that's how much I've listened to this wonderful creation created by the talented man whose real name is Abel Tesfaye.
We have heard Tesfaye's songs since 2011, and every song he has put out since then has been a mixture of R&B, Hip-Hop and EDM (Electronic Dance Music.) His voice is sensual and smooth. His lyrics are sometimes derogatory, but are not short of his personal thoughts and experiences. Tesfaye also reminds us through his lyrics that he is here to stay and the life he lives is 'trill.' If you haven't heard any of his songs yet, I suggest listening to a radio station because they literally play at least three of his songs every minute, and even back-to-back (not kidding.)
All in all, I haven't gotten tired of this album, and I don't plan on it any time soon. It is just too perfect and can't wait to see what more The Weeknd has in store for his fans. I just know that whatever it is, it will definitely be hard to top this one. I am usually one that is never obsessed with a celebrity because I can't know them personally, but Abel makes it easy for me to love him. So props to you, Abel.
