"Glee" is another one of those feel-good teen dramas that make you wonder how producers thought these actors could pass as high school students. I digress.

I felt a little embarrassed watching this show in public places because I'm a 24-year-old woman watching a TV show about a bunch of high school kids singing, but honestly I love this show.

When "Glee" first aired in May 2009, there was a lot of hype over it and it had a huge fanbase for middle and high schoolers. It is now available to stream on Netflix and still has its loyal fanbase of "Gleeks."

What's "Glee" about?

"Glee" essentially navigates the unfiltered lives of a group of teens who come from different cliques: the cheerleaders, jocks, nerds, and randoms. From teen pregnancies to death, this show covers ALL of the emotions.

High school Spanish teacher Will Schuester decides to take over as the glee club instructor and finds a bunch of kids from different cliques and brings them together to make an average singing group incredible.

How good IS it?

My favorite part of this show has to be the character development and relationships between everyone. It really makes you reminisce about the high school drama you had while also thinking to yourself "OK, yeah, that would NEVER happen in high school, but it kinda works."

The main characters are Rachel Berry and Finn Hudson. While all of the O.G. glee club members have a hand in being the stars, it's clear that these two are the front runners for the show, which aligns with the fact that they are the female and male leads of the glee group.

At the end of the third season, a lot of the original glee members graduate and move on with their lives, which we still get to follow. But as far as the original setting of Lima High goes, there is a new group of glee members joining some of the original members who are the new seniors. The graduated characters move on to college or post-grad lives in several locations around the country, but mainly following the life of Rachel in New York City.

When the new set of characters come in and the settings change, it is definitely a little sour and hard to get used to at first, but the flow comes naturally later on and it works.

I think this show deserves a shot if you are someone who loves those teen dramas, this show is full, and I mean FULL of all of the drama you could ask for.

Overall I give "Glee" a 7.5 out of 10 for your weekend — now quarantined — binge watch.

I'll never forget the day that someone told me these words: "Madison, I think you're a good friend to everyone but yourself." I stood there completely in awe of that statement. Before that day, I never really thought about being a friend to myself, and at the time, I didn't really know what it meant. Now, I realize that you can't fully be there for other people unless you're there for yourself, too. You can't show up for others until you're willing to show up for yourself.

Here are five things everyone should learn in order to be a better friend to themselves. These steps are hard, but they're so worth it.
