Every year, Greek Life at Michigan State University participates in Greek Week; a philanthropy-based event for the sororities and fraternities on campus.
Each house is paired into teams and each team picks a charity to raise money for. For 3 months, these teams fundraise for their desired charities and participate in events such as Greek Games and Greek Spotlight, which is a dance competition, to ultimately have their team raise the most money and win Greek Week overall.
This year my sorority, Delta Gamma, along with 3 fraternities, Sigma Chi, Delta Chi, and Triangle, raised money for C.S Mott Children's Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan. This organization has treated 2 of my sorority sisters for cancer as well as many other friends, family members, and loved ones.
Our excitement to raise money for them was the reason why we did so well. Over the 3 month span, my team raised $20,482.90.
The fundraising along with all the other events put us in 3rd place overall and I could not be more proud! For those of you who donated, thank you so much! No matter how big or small your donation was, it helped tremendously and it's going to an amazing cause. My first time participating in Greek Week was one of the most fun and humbling experiences I've had and I can't wait for next year :)
