It goes without saying that college is stressful. The week before Thanksgiving Break is just a little bit, well, a lot harder for college students because instead of thinking about classes or assignments, our heads are filled with the fact that we will be seeing our dogs and our friends from home, and eating our first home-cooked meal after what feels like an eternity. Here's what the week leading up to Thanksgiving Break might have looked like for college students:
You want each day of the week to end before it even begins.
Coffee is your best friend morning, noon, and night.
Sleep of any amount is a foreign concept to you.
You have forgotten what "real" food looks and tastes like.
You don't take your appearance into consideration anymore and remain proud of yourself for just going to class.
You don't want anyone talking to you...
...or looking at you.
You have to use every last ounce of self-control when you're asked, "How is school going?"
But at least your friends are able to relate...
Sitting through lectures becomes a form of torture.
Focusing in class is nearly impossible...
...you're convinced that your professors are out to get you...
...homework only continues to become more confusing...
...and the mere sight of a Scantron or the mention of the word "exam" sends you into full-fledged panic mode.
Everyone just keeps telling you to relax...
...but at this point, you don't even know how to respond to that.
All week-long you constantly contemplate just sleeping until break starts...
...or you think about calling your mom in hopes that she will be able to make it all better.
By Thursday morning, you are desperate and you're willing to do ANYTHING to make it to Thanksgiving Break in one piece.
Anything.
But by some miracle, you stick it out until the bitter end, and before you know it, you're walking out of your last class of the week.
Once you start thinking about seeing your family, friends, and your dog soon, you immediately start feeling like yourself again.
Congrats! You made it and Thanksgiving Break is finally here.
