The Internet and social media platforms are great. I mean I love them, they make staying in touch so much easier and they surely helped you improve your procrastinating skills. But as awesome, amusing and entertaining as Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, etc are, there comes a moment in time when there is nothing else left to see on them.
I’m referring to days like today, for example, when you tell yourself that you are going to be productive, wake up early, maybe even hit the gym and definitely do at least half your homework. It is 10:30 pm at night and what have you achieved? You did your laundry and you microwaved some food. Oh, and you learned everything anyone posted on FB, Twitter or whatever you use and now you are not only wide awake, but you also ran out of things to distract yourself with.
Do not worry though! I am here to save your bored butt because I just came upon this website I used to use in high school and for some weird reason stopped using. But I am bringing it back and you will all thank me for the endless hours of amazing distraction I am about to provide for you.
Stumpleupon is a website in which you can list your interests and when you hit a button at the top of the screen that says stumble it will bring you to random websites that talk about what you are interested in someway. Okay maybe I am not giving stumpleupon the great, uplifting description it deserves but I promise it is something you need to do.
And just to show you a few things you can do with the website I am going to list the first 10 websites that stumble upon takes me to. Brace yourselves for awesomeness:
1. A picture of a wild cat
I like animals a lot; so I get a lot of these kinds of pictures, but I am really not complaining. This time, it took me to national geographic so I could treat me eyes with some very high-quality animals pics. (and really who wouldn't like that, huh?)
2. Writing
I also like writing and now I am on a Tumblr page that has pretty good quotes.
3. Small talk anyone?
Stumpleupon even helps you out if you are a little nervous about starting conversations, you know? Just an fyi before next year's V'Day.
4. Mastering the art of pictures
Or photoshop at least.
5. Movies!
It will even take you to websites that suggest amazing movies to watch on Netflix for days like today or any day really.
6. Beauty
And it gives you tips on how to look FLAWLESS.
7. Food for thought
Sometimes stumpleupon takes you to great websites that have poems or quotes that might make you rethink or appreciate people, moments or opportunities.
8. Travel agent
It also sends you to websites that might help you decide where your next trip will be!
9. Movie Facts
Yea you read it right. It not only gives you great movie suggestions, it also sends you to the websites that have all the dirt on the movie-making processes of movies you like, so you can feel like an insider and be a part of the movie. Or you can just enjoy reading through the movie making process, whatever you’d prefer.
10. Spicing it up
And of course, the last one I will show you had to be about becoming more attractive because duh! that’s all I am trying to do. (But not really mom, I am happy just the way I am. I promise.) But just incase you were looking for a couple of tips stumbleupon and I got you!
Now that you know how awesome this website really is and how much procrastinating potential it has, you better go and give it a try at least. You’ll probably get hooked, to be honest.
