Most days, you can catch me sporting a nice pair of Lulu's and a T-shirt or hoodie. I'm a woman of simple means and find that I don't have a desire to put in much thought when it comes to putting makeup on or dressing for class.
Here is my philosophy: if I didn't have to wake up at 5 a.m. three times a week, I would maybe consider spending a few extra minutes of thought into my outfit for the day.
Here's the reality: I need those extra three-plus minutes of sleep, and I don't care how much anyone might tell me otherwise.
However, on the off-chance you do catch me wearing anything but clothes you could work out in, that usually means one of three things:
1. I ran out of other clean clothes.
2. I have a presentation or a meeting immediately after class or during
If there's time to change, I make the effort to wear my comfy clothes and then change when necessary.
3. I'm trying to impress someone.
I don't always want to look like a slob.
But if I am being honest, the later of the three has only happened maybe a handful of times, so that variable is highly exclusive compared to the others. Thus, it really shouldn't count.
Back to my reasoning behind my daily clothing choices.
First, a comfortable me is someone who will get engrossed in lectures/videos/presentations compared to me that has to remember to keep her legs crossed because she is wearing a dress and doesn't want to flash anyone.
Second, I have a wider range of motion wearing comfortable clothes (flexibility is key, my friends). Finally, and the most logical of them all, I will sometimes go workout directly after class. Who would've thought? Whether that means I go to yoga, take our dogs for a walk, go for a run or whatever, my clothes are serving their active purpose at some point that day.
My clothing choices are intention... well for the most part, at least. I may not always look like a million bucks, but damn, I feel it.
Comfy clothes, live on!
