I feel like I should start out by saying that, yes, I do want a big house and a nice black car and a pair of Louboutins one day. Yet none of this will actually fulfill me or my purpose. As I contemplated the good and the bad and made my usual pro con list on internships I wanted a few months ago, I came to a realization. It's not all about how much money they offer me. It's not all about the dollar amount that my bank account will increase by at the end of the summer. If I wake up everyday dreading going to work, it is not worth it, no matter how much I get paid. I had to actively decide what was going to be best for me based on all of the other factors.

If I wouldn't wake up everyday excited to go to work, it wouldn't be worth it for me. I had to feel like I was fulfilling my calling or that my work would be something meaningful. So many people before me have left big impacts on me and I wanted to make sure I could also leave an impact not just at school, but also in the workplace.

It can definitely be hard when you are persuaded by financial gain. Things are so expensive nowadays, plus so many have student loans to pay or are thinking of taking out loans for graduate school. Sometimes, though, the finances aren't everything. If you have the chance to accept something you really love and have the privilege of not having to worry about a financial benefit, try to go for the one you are passionate about.

While wealth can be awesome and you can get fantastic things like boats, beach houses, planes, Chanel suits, Prada shoes and more, it's not everything. There is so much more to living and we only get one life. What's the Chanel suit worth if you don't wear it to do what you love? How special is the Ferrari if you are the only one that drives it? Is the boat worth it if you only go out once a year on your own?

Make sure when you buy that big house and that fancy yacht you have someone to share it with. In the case that you don't to share them with anyone, make sure you are happy and doing what you love every day. If you love who you are and what you do, your purpose will be better fulfilled.

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
