We Won't Be Quiet

Love your neighbors, love your family and friends, love the strangers you meet on the street. What we need now more than ever is love. Not blind rage and hatred.

We Won't Be Quiet

In the wake of Donald Trump's first few days in office as the 45 president of The United States, there has been a lot of commotion. People on every side are upset, and I mean really upset, and they all feel they're justified in their feelings.

There are a lot of things that I personally believe but right now, that's not what the world needs. We don't need more people spreading anger and hatred. We need people spreading peace and love, as cliche as that may sound.

It seems like everywhere I look there is another catastrophe or angry country threatening to bomb someone. North Korea is threatening to drop missiles on us and there's endless bloodshed and fighting in the middle east, and people want to be upset about women marching in the street.

Instead of getting offended by what someone else believes and throwing temper tantrums on Twitter, because both sides are whining a lot. A lot. How about we all ban together to make sure that the nominees for major spots in our government know how to do our job. How about we make sure our president's press secretary gives actual facts in a press conference. How about we accept the opinions of the people around us, know matter how different they may be from ours.

We all need to stick together. Left, right, middle of the road, or anywhere in between. We as a country need to accept and love one another because if we don't, how can we expect our government to accept everyone that lives in this country?

But don't be mistaken, while we must ban together we cannot stay quiet. We have a very interesting 4 years ahead of us and we cannot let anyone walk all over us. We are only strong together. As a nation united, despite all of our differences.

But that will never happen if we don't learn to put aside our differences, no matter how large or small those differences may be. To ensure our rights are kept in tact, and I mean rights for everyone, we have to stick together and stand up for each other. Even if something doesn't directly affect you, be a good person and fight for their equal rights too.

I don't have all the answers and there's so much we won't be told over the next 4 years. But the one thing I know for sure is that we cannot lay down and be walked all over. Our government and countries across the world need to know we stand united as a country and that we aren't someone to mess with.

But the only way we can achieve that is if we decide to be decent human beings and stop attacking each other. Love your neighbors, love your family and friends, love the strangers you meet on the street. What we need now more than ever is love. Not blind rage and hatred.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
