We The People Of The United States

A desperate call for political unity.

We The People Of The United States
Freedom Outpost

Ronald Reagan, 40th President of the United States, once declared, "If we ever forget that we're one nation under God, then we will be one nation gone under.” This statement suggests the guidelines for any prosperous government controlled by the people. The United States, as a constitutional republic, claims to regard value, character and religion above any political agenda. Nevertheless, as a U.S. citizen, I experience several doubts regarding the standard of our national government. Throughout the past political elections, it became quite evident that the majority of our nation's leaders fail to represent the best interests of the people. I encourage everyone to reassess the path that America is heading from the direct influence of Democrats and Republicans alike. Unless we unite as one nation under God, the fate of this thriving country will diminish all hope for achieving the American Dream.

I am truly disappointed by the presumptive nominees of each political party running for president. It amazes me, that while I do identify with a particular party, neither one looks promising for the future of America. Whether the Republican nominee, Donald Trump, or the Democratic nominee, Hillary Clinton, each candidate conveys harsh accusations and aggressive agendas. Both individuals demonstrate vigorous personalities fueled by relentless ambition. However, the direction of our country, under the leadership of either candidate, appears dismal. With personal objectives ahead of the American people, I am hesitant to experience the same leadership, values and security imposed by previous presidents.

Hillary Clinton is a fierce individual consumed by the ruthless demands of politics. As former Secretary of State, she played an integral role surrounding many of our nation's vital decisions. Nevertheless, several of her decisions and overall character continue to contradict her perceived aptitude for the presidency. One of the most troubling topics involves Hillary Clinton's connection to the email scandal regarding the 2012 attack on the U.S. consulate in Banghazi. It remains an appalling possibility that a potential leader, let alone president, may have been the direct cause for one of the most gruesome, and potentially avoidable, military accidents on international soil. Hillary Clinton imposes insecurity on many U.S. citizens, especially with the rising terrorist threats of Isis.

Despite Secretary Clinton's controversial actions, Donald Trump equally challenges the stability of America. I agree with individuals who desire a president without a politician's filter, however, I am doubtful that such political inexperience would effectively guide America in the right direction. Even so, Mr. Trump appeals to a vast majority of American citizens despite his absence in public office. His successful career as a lucrative businessman and entrepreneur assured him the Republican nominee for the presidency. Donald Trump's financial expertise and partnership with numerous countries concerning international trade continues to increase his unsurpassed ratings. Nevertheless, Mr. Trump's character and blatant candor during many public encounters will continue to shape a negative image around a potential president of the United States.

Ultimately, there is still one group accountable for the decline in value and fundamental rights established nearly two and a half centuries ago. These individuals embody the essence and platform on which the American government was formed. Unfortunately, we the people of the United States, have lost sight of the basic values and principles that our great nation symbolizes. Facing years of corruption and political bigotry, we are responsible for the decisions authorized by elected officials. We possess the power to choose leaders that persevere under a moral compass without the temptation of lobbyists or special interest groups invading their better judgment. I encourage each American concerned with the direction of our country to reflect on your personal behavior before accusing others.

Instead of partaking in aggressive and insulting dialogue, each individual must remain mature and respectful of others rightful opinions. Instead of simply agreeing with a candidate's message, we must learn to investigate their true values and objectives without unknowingly accepting a politician's convincing filter. Instead of neglecting the fundamental rights and civic duty to vote, individuals must allow all voices to be heard regarding every electoral decision. Ultimately, America's true leadership remains bound to each citizen. Therefore, every American must respect the basic rights and duties of their neighbors in an effort to restore justice and value to our beautiful nation.

Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton remain fierce opponents that demonstrate various qualities and ideas that concern many Americans alike. We struggle with financial stability, national security, border control and additional pertinent issues. As citizens, we must end the disgraceful comments exchanged among individuals supporting opposing political parties. We must cease any animosity between those who hold different beliefs and ideals. With the responsibility of our nation's future, we must adhere to the values and principles established by our Founding Fathers.

Each citizen must re-energize the character and spirit of America in order to conduct peaceful dialogue and effective legislation. In the words of Ronald Reagan, "Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly and leave the rest to God.” In a period where personal beliefs and values are constantly overlooked, we the people must acknowledge and respect the rights of every neighboring American.

With a positive attitude, an infinite love for my country and a trust for the future,

God Bless America.
