As young BLACK women in american, there are many things I could address. The problems facing my people are at an all time high and I personally have lost it. Recently an unarmed black man was shot in my hometown Charlotte, NC. I cannot describe the anger that rose within me when hearing how close to home this actually was now. I became somewhat numb with anger. Looking to Facebook of course where all my friends that I grew up with are I became even madder about what I saw. Now I grew up in a predominantly black school so I expected to see rallying together and community support......NOPE!! As I read through Facebook I saw my fellow brothers and sisters saying we only care when it involves the police.
This is where I lost it to the point of blood boiling. Instead of acting out of character, I just unfriended and decided to make a waking post about why this makes ZERO sense. So let's go through the reasons I stated in my post on why this theory of black people only care when deaths by a cop is unintelligent.
I think the notion that gets me the most is people who do nithing for thier community try to speak on behalf of the community. When is the last time you asked a child what they go through every day? We talk on social media about how we hate to see a black man or women not doing anything with their life but then don't provide them any guidance. You speak from behind a keyboard but do not do anything to stop the problems faced in the black community. You have the audacity to state the masses only care when it's black versus police but don't do the research to see how you can become active in your community. As I stated in the post there are HUNDREDS of organizations that working every day to enrich the communities children. We all are tired of seeing our children die. Just because you personally don't see the changes and the effort being made doesn't mean it doesn't exist. The change is out there, but when you have doubters, it's going to take longer.
It may sound like I am ranting but there is a method to my madness. My city is in a crisis and the people who put their life into it seem not to care. We have to stand together and be informed but just post on social media. If you have a problem with black on black crime DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! Stop saying no one else does anything when you sitting behind the computer too. We have to work together to save our youth or be at fault when they become what we fear the most. Educate our young men and women and do not condone the disrespect between the genders. We must silence the critics and stand against the injustices being done to our men and women.
