For millions of people around the world, March Madness is finally upon us. This truly one of the best times of the year, especially the sports year.
After the Super Bowl, there are no really active playoffs until conference championship week, which is the last week in February and first in March. In these tournaments, any team may make a run and win 5 games in as many days, and get a berth in the Big Dance.
There is drama as many teams are on the bubble as to whether or not they will join the Dance, as some just like me high school, did not receive an invite to a dance.
We get to see some teams that we normally don’t, along with some solid pairings, and also a chance to see one’s favorite team in action and fight to get to the Final Four.
I’d say that one of my favorite things about March Madness is how everyone fills out a bracket and it captivates the attention of the nation. Almost everyone will fill out a bracket, everyone from the rapid sports fan who analyzes stats on stats on stats. Then, there are people like me, who are familiar with only one team, and finally, the crowd who does not know anything about basketball. Together, they fill out brackets, and are on equal footing.
Finally, everyone gets to watch their brackets busted by some under the radar team, and we can all commiserate together.
