We Love Fisher

Summer has come to a close, and it's officially time to go back to college (THANK GOD). While there are great schools all over the country (and world for that matter), I don't think there's any place else quite like St. John Fisher College. Obviously, it's a normal thing to have school pride, but we take it to a whole other level at the Fish. I can't even begin to express the overwhelming feeling of being at home, feeling loved and feeling like you belong when you step on foot onto Fisher's campus. The feeling is mutual throughout the college... it's just #sofisherithurts.

... and they go on and on and on. I really don't know what it is, but it feels like we are our own little world. Any "social structure" that existed in high school, or even the real world doesn't matter when you're at Fisher — everyone has each other's backs. I am so thankful and proud to be a part of such an amazing institution, and an even more amazing "family." It's crazy how a school has turned into so many people's "happy place" and has touched the lives of everyone that passes through.

And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.

Being a part of any organization undoubtedly comes with the pitfalls of being grouped into negative stereotypes, and sororities are certainly no exception. Here are the top few things, that I find at least, are some of the most irritating misconceptions that find their way into numerous conversations...

8. "The whole philanthropy thing isn't real, right?"

Well all those fundraisers and marketing should would be a waste then wouldn't they?
