Share The Talents God Has Given You

Have you ever started working on a project and wonder where the motivation came from to drive you to start that particular project? Some people may say that God has given them a special talent when that project is completed, and it can be used to help others. What is a hidden talent you may ask, it is a talent many may not realize they have, but the Father above has given them a gift to use to encourage others? This is a story about a couple of friends who were to find a hidden talent within each other and how it brought them closer to God. During the process of discovering that they both had hidden talents that they did not realize that they had until they started the process of listening, praying and studying with each other to refocus their hearts back on God.

Steven and Dianna are best friends who do everything together. They have both been through multiple storms in their lives and some of them have really had them worried for a long period of time. Dianna was fighting cancer and Steven was by her side through the whole process. After her cancer was in remission, her best friend started writing about the process of watching his best friend go through the chemotherapy. Fast forward three years and Steven took Dianne to a church retreat where they were challenged to go through a process to try to find a hidden talent within the hearts of the best friends. After the retreat, the best friends started working on the challenge to find a hidden talent within the hearts of each other that can be used to help and encourage others. Over the next few weeks, they both spent many days and nights studying, praying and asking God to use this process to help them to refocus their hearts and minds because Steven and Dianna were losing sight on what was important. Over the next month, Dianna started noticing that Steven was constantly writing something down and she wondered what he could be writing. He was finishing his writings about watching his best friend go through chemotherapy and how their friendship has changed since he stood by her side during that time. She asked Steven if she could see the notes and information that he was writing and he gladly shared it with her. Dianna started to realize that Steven has been using scripture in every page of his notebook of his story of watching his best friend as she fought cancer and went into remission and how their friendship shifted at that point. One scripture that stood out to her was:

Matthew 6:25 (King James Version) Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

Dianna's eyes filled with tears and she hugged Steven and told him thank you for being by her side and that he has a hidden talent for writing. At first, he was thrown until some publishers asked him to publish the scripture filled story of the friendship between him and Dianna. Another scripture that popped out at her while reading this book that She didn't know Steven was writing was:

1st Thessalonians 4:18 (Today's New International Version) Therefore encourage one another with these words.

After she handed Steven back his notebook she asked him to pray with her and to help her to grow closer to God for she has drifted and was starting to give up. Steven prayed with her with tears in eyes and he started to see that he needed to continue to write that book to encourage others to not give up on your best friend or give up on God. As the two continued the process of finding a hidden talent within the hearts of each other they found that their relationship with GOD was being rebuilt. The next month Steven was visiting with Dianna and she had a surprise for him. It was a video with a message on it. Dianna told Steven that while she was fighting cancer three years ago and almost ready to give up, he told her that he loved her and their friendship means to be by your side through the times when you need it most. With tears in his eyes, he was unsure of the secret behind the video and told her to thank you. As he watched the video he realized it was a video of their entire friendship and how they have grown to be the best of friends and as they started to spend more time with God, they started to go back to church and rebuild the relationship with the Father they both thought they have lost. One the scripture that Dianna used in her video was:

Job 8:21 (KJV) Til he fill thy mouth with laughing, and thy lips with rejoicing.

As time went on Steven started to see that Dianna had a hidden talent of video and editing to get the message across to others from around the world. That following week both Steven and Dianna were both baptized into Christ. Then Dianna went to the doctor for a check-up and she was still cancer free and the two best friends were working on rebuilding that relationship with GOD that they thought they have lost. Another scripture Dianna used in her video was one of Steven's favorite verses and it was:

1st Peter 5:6-7 (TNIV) Humble yourselves, therefore under God's mighty hand, that he nay lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

Fast forward another three years and Steven and Dianna got married. Dianna was still cancer free and Steven published his book about the friendship he has with his best friend Dianna and how her battle with cancer changed their friendship and together they continue to work on their relationship with the Father above. They still go through the process of finding hidden talents within each other's hearts and they take those talents that were once hidden to serve God and to bring others close to him and bring encouragement for those who may need some Faith.

The two then continued the process to continue to find the hidden talents that God has given them and used those hidden talents to share God's word and rebuild a broken relationship that they have had when they both felt like giving up and not realizing that their hidden talents they discovered that God has given them through the process help set up the spiritual foundation that they both have lost at one point and helped them to grow closer to Him.

Matthew 25:20 (KJV) And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more.

The couple that started out as best friends started finding their hidden talents within each other and worked to use those talents that God has given them to reach out to others to encourage and bring others to him for that the challenge that turned into a lifelong process to discover hidden talents that brought them back to the Father after years of wondering and being unsure and building the foundation on God's word and the couple continued to study God's word on a regular basis, rebuilt their prayer life and regained that Father/child relationship that they thought them were missing and through the process of finding hidden talents they both grew closer to God throughout the process and started to trust in him and spend time with Him in prayer and build a relationship with the spiritual foundation of Christ.

We are all given talents that can be used to serve God, for his purpose and though sometimes we may be unaware of those hidden talents, He can bring them out in the individuals to use to serve Him and encourage others. It goes back to the projects when you do a project where does your motivation come from? God gives his children different talents, skills, abilities that they can use to serve Him and bring the Glory back to where it belongs to the Father above, and we may not be asked to try to find the hidden talents in others, however, if we are given a the talent that can be used to Serve God and bring Him the glory; that can be used to encourage one another do not hide God's talents, gifts, skills or abilities for they are not hidden from the Father and we should use those talents, gifts, skills or abilities to Serve God and give Him the glory that he deserves and uses them to encourage one another. For everybody is unique and have different talents, and skills however if we try to hide it will not work for God sees all and knows our hearts and as Christians, we need to take those hidden talents and use them to bring encouragement to one another and use them to Serve the One who gave us those talents.

Psalm 9:10 (TNIV) Those who know your name trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you. Are you using your talents to serve God and what are your hidden talents? A-men.

Psalms 20:7 (KJV) Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.

Matthew 11:28 -30 (TNIV) “Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

It's officially December. There is less than a month of 2024, and I still feel like yesterday was summer. Now comes the merriest time of the year, the Christmas season.

Everyone has been waiting for this time of year since mid-October (which is way too early, in my opinion) or before. It's a time of love, family, memory-making, and gift-giving. A lot of times when I ask friends and family what they want, I get a lot of "I don't know" or "I don't care."

mu bucket list

I was sitting at my cubicle, now that I am an adult, looking at the rain pouring down on the windowsill, bumming on life, wishing for the rain to just stop for a full day.

There are moments where we count down the hours until work is over and how many more days till the weekend, and this many weeks until something exciting. Or something like that? Well, I was bumming because my next day off from work is not until Memorial Day weekend, which is not until the end of May. And since this is my first year out of college being a “real person,” I am totally missing the winter, spring and summer breaks. I am sure all of us have felt this way even if just for a hot minute…
