We Don't Talk Anymore
thevictoriouslatino.blogspot.com

If you haven't heard this song yet, you probably will eventually. This song has a somber sound to it, being that it's about a break up. If you've heard it and haven't really listened to the lyrics, you might have missed an underlying message that each singer has when they sing their part. This is one of those songs that almost everyone can relate to, even if they don't want to admit it. Even having a crush on someone that is in a relationship with somebody else can be really hard, whether you actually dated them or not.

"We don't talk anymore" addresses one of the biggest losses of a relationship. Going from talking to anything and everything to virtually nothing can be really hard. You wonder why you even bothered with the entire relationship in the first place, and it causes a lot of confusion and hurt.

Charlie says:

I just heard you found the one you've been looking
You've been looking for
I wish I would have known that wasn't me
'Cause even after all this time I still wonder
Why I can't move on
Just the way you did so easily

Charlie seems upset that he heard she found what she was looking for, and he's upset that wasn't what she thought about him when they were together.

Don't wanna know
What kind of dress you're wearing tonight
If he's holding onto you so tight
The way I did before
I overdosed
Should've known your love was a game
Now I can't get you out of my brain
Oh, it's such a shame

He doesn't want to know what Selena is wearing out tonight, because he knows she probably looks smoking and is going to attract a lot of male attention.

Selena says:

I just hope you're lying next to somebody
Who knows how to love you like me
There must be a good reason that you're gone
Every now and then I think you
Might want me to come show up at your door
But I'm just too afraid that I'll be wrong

Selena thinks that the whole reason he's gone is because he found someone better in bed, and it almost feels like she's blaming herself. Then of course she wonders if she should reach out to him, but she's too afraid to do it because she doesn't know if that's what he wants.

Don't wanna know
If you're looking into her eyes
If she's holding onto you so tight the way I did before
I overdosed
Should've known your love was a game
Now I can't get you out of my brain
Oh, it's such a shame

She's afraid that his physical relationship with this new woman is going to turn into something else. She doesn't want him to look into her eyes because that means they would be forming an emotional connection.

Then Charlie changes what he said to:

Don't wanna know
What kind of dress you're wearing tonight
If he's giving it to you just right
The way I did before

Charlie assumes that the tight holding led to other things, but he doesn't really want to know for sure.

So, what does this song have to do with breakups? Guys tend to be more worried about the physical aspect of what their ex is doing, while girls tend to be worried about the emotional aspect. Basically, the main point of this song is that breakups suck, and sitting around worrying about what your ex is doing or who they're with doesn't help one bit.

For those long nights that turn into mornings when the struggle is real.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."
