Singer/Songwriters do not get enough credit for what we do.
Now I am not complaining that trying to make a career out of music is tough. My Issue is that NO ONE CARES ABOUT OUR MUSIC. Why is this you may say? Well, let's explore that just a little deeper.
Today's music industry has changed to the point that instead of reaching souls they are reaching big bushiness' wallets. What I mean by that is instead of looking for artists that could have a real impact on people's lives they look for artists that they can mold into what they want them to be; a walking billboard if you will.
This puts young singer/songwriters at a huge disadvantage. We struggle day in and day out just to get someone to care about the things that we care about. Some days it seems almost pointless.
With bills rolling in and money going as soon as it enters our possession, we are constantly faced with the choice to go and find an everyday job or to keep risking our dreams. However, at the end of the day when one of your fans walks up to you and says that they love your music and your passion for what you do; it makes the destroyed credit scores, and baggy eyes all worth the while.
