Be still my love, know that I am yours and you are mine.
"Hello? God? Is that you? Woah Woah Woah no. There is no way I just heard God’s voice, my life isn’t some Bible story."
My love, the sky is on fire for you.
"Wait, what? God I was thinking that when I was looking at the sunset but it felt like that voice just came from the Heavens. There’s no way…"
Child, you must let go.
"God? Is that you? I know, I know I need to let go… am I strong enough?"
I know the plans I have for you.
"God? Hello? I think I heard you but I’m not sure… was that you?"
Beloved, you are not alone. Be still and draw near to me, for my heart hurts when yours does. My sweet child, I know the plans I have for you. Let your soul rest in my embrace, for you have done well.
"God, I know you’re there.
I hear you, I want to hear you.
I trust you, I want to trust you.
I love you, I want to love you.
I will love like you Lord, teach me how to love like you.
Lord, you have filled me with a joy that I can’t ever put into words, let my heart show you, God. Let others encounter this joy.
I will stand against the darkness and love. No matter what comes against, but I can’t do it alone Lord. I need you."
My love, I will never leave you nor forsake you.
Words, audible words, a voice you can hear. In the world we live in, hearing the voice of God doesn’t seem very realistic. Our world is loud, and it has a tendency to drown out the goodness.
Often the only voice we hear is the voice of the enemy, the one telling you “you’re not enough” or “you can’t”.
That’s a loud voice, isn’t it?
So if we can hear the voice of the enemy so clearly why do we find it so hard to believe that we can hear God’s as well?
Open your heart to the idea that the Maker of heaven and earth, the King of kings, the Almighty God, is intently speaking to your heart. The voice of the enemy will begin to quiet as the roar of God’s voice, like the mighty lion He is, overcomes.
Yes, that is Him talking to you.
No, you are not alone.
Yes, He loves you, you specifically, unconditionally.
And maybe, just maybe, if we let His love fill us completely, we can show that love to others.
Beloved; let yourself be loved, live loved, and love as He has loved.
