With Thanksgiving season ending, I had the time to reflect what I'm most thankful for. Every other year I say how I'm thankful for my family, health, pets, etc. This year I'm still thankful for those, but I've decided to reflect on the things that I, and many other Penn State students, are thankful for:
1. Penn State in general
As an Animal Science major, I'm thankful for the opportunity to attend one of the largest agriculture schools in the nation. Being a Penn State student means that I will not only have classes that prepare me for a career in agriculture, but it also gives me the biggest alumni network and all of its associations, so my chances of getting hired by a Penn State grad are pretty high. Since Penn State has a big agricultural college, it also allows students to get involved in clubs like the Dairy Science Club, and participate in the events they put on , like Meet A Cow Day.
2. Penn State Football
In just this season we went from being an unranked team, to being ranked number 7. Oh yeah, we also beat Ohio State... sorry I mean THE Ohio State. Need I say more?
3. The food downtown
The food downtown is a necessity in all Penn Stater's diets. Whether you're craving Pokey Sticks or a burger from Baby's, every kind of cuisine that you would possibly want can be found downtown, plus it's cheap!
4. Berkey Creamery
I'm a huge ice cream fan, so being able to get delicious ice cream practically 24/7 for sure makes this a huge thing that I'm thankful for.
5. The friends
Finally, I'm thankful for the friends that I've made while attending Penn State. I'm at a school that has over 40,000 students during any given year and I'm somehow able to make friends that have the same background I do, and some that don't. Finding this diversity at Penn State has allowed me to grow as a person.
