It's okay to not be okay.

Right now we all need someone to tell us that what we're feeling is valid,

Right now, all across this big green bowling ball in the sky, everyone is feeling some type of way. In the majority of our lives nothing like this has ever gripped all of our communities so tightly. Everything that we run from daily is catching up as we realize how much we really were distracting ourselves. It's okay in this time to face the fact that maybe, you aren't as okay as you thought you were in the beginning.

During this time, it's especially important to be gentle with yourself while still being committed to furthering your self growth. Take the boring seconds and find a way to fill them with some kind of revelation. I'm going to list five of the things I've found really help, especially for people with anxiety disorder.

Keeping a journal

Writing in a journal is an amazing way to get your feelings out without having to actually talk to someone about it. If you're by yourself this will be extremely helpful. I've found that by not distracting myself, really allowing myself to flow through the things I've held back, it helps release tension from other areas as well. Even if you don't have anxiety it can be a super fun way to beat some of that boredom!

Research something you've always wanted to know.

There you are, sitting on the couch in the same sweats you've warn all week. I see you, I have been you. You know that thing you've always been interested in but life has always been too busy to indulge in? Well would you look at that, google and comfy pants all at your service. Use this time to gain some knowledge for yourself, really take advantage. Not only will it keep you busy, it'll also feel so nice to feel like you did something for your brain.

Take a personality quiz

My personal favorite is the enneagram test! These can be so fun to learn a little about yourself, or just to entertain yourself. The enneagram is amazing with how in depth it really takes you on knowing yourself and being able to address your own issues within yourself. If you aren't the self revelation kind, it's still fun to learn some new things. Dive deeper into your zodiac and birth chart all together!

Have a little self portrait sesh

You don't have to get all dolled up, you don't even have to plan to share them anywhere. Staying home, not doing anything with yourself can really impact your self esteem. Find some good lighting in your place, try that "natural" makeup look you've had saved on pinterest for months and get crackin! It can be really fun to explore different sides of yourself without worrying about judgement.

Do something your six year old self always wanted but mom always said no.

Building a fort in the living room? Turning a box into a spaceship? Mixing three different kinds of cereal? I mean the options for this one are really limitless as long as you're being safe and staying the hell inside.

Really I hope we can all just take from this experience something that we will carry with us. Something we can pass to other generations. It's easy to focus on all of the negative, especially when it's everywhere we look. Make sure to take some time to create the good for yourself. You are worth it.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
