Recently, the world has started to become undone. Terrorism has started to become a global fear in government and people. There are groups of people in the Middle East who wish to bring harm to those who have differences in religious and cultural beliefs. This article will not mention that group of people, because they do not deserve the privilege to be named.

The terror attacks in Brussels and Paris really awakened the fear of traveling and made a lot of people unsafe.

Sometimes, this country needs to be reminded of who we truly are. With the countless attacks, we lose a little sight of who we are due to being blinded by fear and hysteria that sometimes is portrayed in the media.

We are the United States of America. We are Americans.

We are the land of the free and the home of the brave. We welcome whomever to our country and welcome them with open arms. That was the philosophy which this great country was founded on.

Currently, we are facing the possibility of a terror attacks happening anywhere in the world.

We are currently divided due to a presidential election where all the candidates have their positive and negative qualities. Regardless of your political beliefs or what you believe in regards to religion or culture, we are all one. One group of people, one country.

People in other countries talk badly about us but have no clue what it's like to be born into such an amazing country. We can go to the desert and then the mountains in one day. We can move from the snow belt of the north to the Caribbean-like temperatures of the south.

We can do what we want and say what we please. We're allowed to start our own businesses, have our own families, and go to college where we want.

We truly have the freedoms some countries do not give to their citizens.

We stood together through the 9/11 tragedy and the Boston Bombings. We came together to help our fellow Americans who were left homeless after Hurricane Katrina. We can make it through anything.

We need to stop fighting each other and being offended at literally everything.

With the group in the Middle East trying to knock us down, we will remind them of who we are, and I know we can stand as one again to define our country's strengths.

Thank you to the people who have given up their lives to serve our country. Sometimes, we forget to thank our troops, and we need to remember that we would not be this great country without them fighting against the groups of people who despise us.

Thank you again.

I pledge an allegiance to the flag of the United States of America.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

winter

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
