I said it. I’m not a sorority girl. I'm more than what society portrays me along with other women across the United States to be: dumb, self-absorbed, and spoiled. That’s where people are wrong.
Everyday you hear people degrading other women for joining a sorority because it’s ‘dumb’ or a 'waste of time'. That’s not the case. A sorority is not any of those phrases; it’s more than that.
A sorority is place where you can be yourself, surround yourself with other women who are hard working, intelligent, driven, and want to make an impact in the world. This is a place where you grow as a person and change the lives of others.
I don’t have to justify my accomplishments nor should any of the women in any affiliated sorority, wear your letters and chant those catchy cants as loud as you can because these women in your sorority have impacted you in more ways than you know.
Moreover, forget what people say or think of you joining a particular sorority. Take that leap because the next four years will fly by and you will not want to regret surrounding yourself with women who will make you a better person by the time you graduate.
