There are so many things that people want in life; happiness, joy, energy, lots and lots of smiles daily. Perhaps this is actually just the description of how you feel every time you get that perfect drink from Starbucks, whether it's a tea, latte or coffee, it warms your heart. This my friends is the beginning of an obsession.

So how do you know you are obsessed with Starbucks?

1. You get up extra early in the morning just so you can make it to Starbucks before your morning class or work.

It might mean setting the alarm 15 minutes earlier, but boy, is it worth it.

2. You crave it almost every morning as well.

It is a necessity and without it, functioning just doesn't seem likely.

3. You have your "normal" drink already on your mind when you walk in the doors.

(No matter how complicated it may be.)

4. The workers may even start to recognize you.

Or even better, remember your name!

5. You reward yourself with that latte that you've been dying to try.

Because hey, you studied a solid five minutes! That deserves something!

6. You're a Starbucks Gold member.

And if you aren't yet, you definitely could have been if you had actually been keeping track of your purchases.

7. Other coffee shops are nice and all, but they just can't seem to compare to Starbucks for you.

Nice try, Dunkin'.

8. You sometimes get strange looks of disapproval upon arrival.

People may start to look at you weird because they feel like you were just there an hour ago; and then they realize that you actually were there an hour ago.

9. Starbucks is your go-to homework/study spot, it's just something about the atmosphere.

Who needs libraries?

10. You might even know a couple of the drinks on the "Secret Menu."

But you also may be too scared to order them because you don't want to piss the baristas off.

11. If you haven't had coffee in a couple of days, you have withdrawal.

Paired with a disinterest in anything else.

12. Your drink has probably been on your Instagram or Snapchat more than once.

Who doesn't love to brag?

13. You've come to enjoy the random spellings of your name that you've received.

At least they tried.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
