Global warming is a serious issue that needs to be addressed. The faster we address this issue, the more likely we are at ending it for good. Be apart of the movement and make a difference with these simple things!
1. Plant Trees
Although it's not an obvious thing to all, planting trees can help slow global warming by a lot! Deforestation is a huge contributor to global warming along with CO2 emissions. By planting trees you are reducing this because trees take in carbon dioxide, which is the most important greenhouse gas, and release oxygen. So go in your own backyard, plant a tree and make a difference.
2. Reducing or Changing Our Energy Source
The more obvious cause for global warming is from the burning of all our fossil fuels, which admit greenhouse gases into our atmosphere. If we reduce the use of our fossil fuels, then we can slow or stop global warming. There are two ways you can help reduce the use of fossil fuels. The first thing is to use less energy, which will require less fossil fuels. The second option is to alternative energy sources, such as wind power or solar power. In your own home all you have to do is use energy efficient appliances, it's as easy as that!
3. Conserve Water
Although not widely thought about, but the process of purifying and cleaning water is another big factor in the admissions of greenhouse gases in our atmosphere. Cities and towns all across the world consume major amounts of water, causing companies to have to manufacture more and more as time goes on. By conserving water we can avoid this overflow of production and save our atmosphere from more pollution. In your own home all you have to do is just be aware of your water usage and turn it off when you're not using it!
4. Reduce Waste
Our landfills are filled with overwhelming amounts of garbage that in result of being there, produce and release methane gases along with other greenhouse gases which help contribute to global warming. Even more so, waste has to be manufactured further which requires energy which will release more fossil fuels. By reducing the amount of trash you develop and begin recycling more, you can easily reduce your carbon footprint and help!
