You may not be able to follow through with new year resolutions, but you can't avoid going to class this semester. Instead of looking forward to getting this semester done, finish feeling accomplished, strong, and a little bit smarter. Here are some tips on how to tackle the second semester without breaking a sweat.

Get an agenda

Besides remembering when the last day of school is, some of us like a record when every quiz is, when our paper is due, and when that exam is. besides class, you need to remember when that club even is, when the big interview is, and basically, if you are a college student there is a lot to remember. If you are not organized, I guarantee you will forget three of the five things you needed to do. If you don't use a planner, you are making it so much harder for yourself to be successful. you are limiting your potential, my friend. Now you don't have to go out and buy that aesthetic planner and the Supe Store that costs an arm and a leg unless you want to. You can either A. pick one up at your nearest dollar store or Target, B. pick one up on campus, or C. order one on Amazon. Your options are limitless, but the important thing is you keep organized and find a planner that works best for you.

My Day Designer from Staples. Can also be purchased at Target.Staples / Google

Right before the new year, I went to my nearest Target and bought the Day designer. I like to invest in a decent planner, for my life depends on it. I carry that agenda around like its attached to my hip. I usually use a weekly agenda, but this year I went with a daily designer so its more through and breaks down my day by the hour. I know exactly what is going down that day and more importantly, I know what I need to tackle that day!

Let's talk about Google Drive

Ok I confess, I use to save all of my important projects, papers, or basically anything my life depended on within the documents of my computer. PSA: JUST BECAUSE YOU HAVE A PASSWORD ON YOUR MACBOOK DOESN'T MEAN IT IS SAFE! I hate to dampen your read, but your computer could crash at any minute and everything could be lost. save yourself from this anxiety and just use Google drive! This way you can access everything with to without your computer! Trust me this will be the best decision you make all year!

Study like Nick Saban

If Saban can get us to the championship, you can prepare for an exam. Saban studies every team his men tackle! Be proactive and study way in advanced! after a day of class, go over what you learned so you have a good knowledge of the information you obtained. If you are not too overwhelmed with homework, spend some time in a comfortable setting, maybe Farm bowl or either Heritage House, and go over what you have learned. Maybe create a mock quiz, quiz yourself, and if you do well... treat yourself to something sweet.

Take a fun break

This article sounds like a bunch of work and not a lot of having fun, but it so important. You must close your laptop just for the night to eliminate any sense of being burnt out. If you plan correctly, you will have time to have some fun. I noticed this was very hard for me, but this year I challenge myself and every workaholic to take a break and let your hair down because it is most likely you deserve it! If this is an issue for you, put your phone on silent or turn it off. every text and email can wait!

Prepare for a productive summer

I know we all look forward to bathing in the sun and not even thinking about answering a single email or even picking up a writing utensil, but until that degree is in your hand and you have a paycheck, the grind doesn't stop. Now is the time to look for internships that do with your career path. This doesn't mean you won't have time for fun in the sun. Make time for fun and relaxation, but also stay on track to get the most out of this year! I hope these tips will help you start off 2019 right!

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.

What is "talking?" How does one "talk?"

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.
