"In a way he was like the country he lived in, everything came easily to him" (The Way we Were, 1973.) We have those people in our society who do not need to work hard to achieve great things. I was never that person.
We all get busy during the chaotic school year. Sadly, that also means we lose some of our motivation, giving us a bigger challenge than we anticipated. Writing, which is something I love, turns into a task when I have no ideas for what I want to write about. In a society that has a tendency to be offended easily, it can also be scary to write about my personal opinions on issues that influence our society.
Yet, we need to learn how not to be scared of what others think. I have been self-conscience my whole life, and I tend to focus way too much on others’ opinions. I aspire to be perfect, but the more perfect I try to be, the worse off I end up becoming. I over-think even the smallest of things.
Even though I have yet to conquer my insecurities, I love helping others become inspired to try their best. As an education major, I want to know about a student in order to find ways to better his or her life. Becoming a motivator is one of the biggest accomplishments we can experience. In my personal life, I constantly go out of my way to help those around me, which does give me fascinating stories.
When one triumphs over his or her anxiety, one becomes more in charge of where his or her path leads. Yet, being good is never good enough. Someone will always have a negative opinion no matter how proud you are of yourself for an accomplishment. There will also always be someone who believes you cannot accomplish your goals. You need to believe that you can accomplish your goals. Every time you think someone does not believe you are intelligent enough or capable of taking up a challenge, use that as motivation. The harder the challenge, the stronger you will become. In a way, we are like the country we live in. We all need to fight forward, accept criticism, and find motivation to never give up.
