Ways to Make Multitasking Less Stressful

There is no avoiding it. We all have to juggle multiple things at a time whether it is multiple jobs, school, or just chores around the house. And no matter how small the task may be, it is easy to feel overwhelmed with all of the work that is left to do. Here are a few things to ease the stress of feeling overwhelmed with multitasking.

1. Make a list.

This is the most important thing to do when you have multiple things piled on your plate. Write down each thing no matter how little the task is. Having everything out of your head and onto paper releases so much tension and already has you feeling better about the situation. And it always feels so good to cross something off the list and encourages you to do more.

2. Don’t think about all of your tasks at once.

That is what causes the stress. Rather than looking at everything and feeling lost in multiple things that need your attention, focus on one task at a time. There is no need to stress about all of them, just look at one and complete it and so on.

3. Be proactive about it.

We all have those times where we know we have so much to do, but would rather sit on Facebook or scroll around on our phone. To avoid feeling impending stress overload, get to work and knock it all out in one sitting. And then you can get back to scrolling through Facebook.

4. Just relax.

It seems huge and that there is no end in sight when it comes to completing everything, but that’s when you need to relax. You also need to realize that this is not the end of the world, and everything is going to be just fine after it is all done. We get so worked up over these things that really don’t affect us that much in the long run. And while you’re over there stressing your brains out, all you’re getting is early wrinkles, and we just can’t have that.

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
