Ways To Make Any Place Feel More Like Home

Sometimes you're stuck in a place that's not comfortable. It could be too cold, the windows could be broken, the floor could be creaky in a creepy way. Even the average dorm isn't always the homiest, but there are little things you can buy to make it better.

String Lights are a good way to lighten up a room without the harshness of a lamp. They're fun and come a wide variety of lengths and colors, and given it's getting closer to Christmas time, so soon there'll be value lights at Walmart for decent prices.

Candles are literally the best home decor thing you could ever buy because they smell freaking amazing, they provide light, and who doesn't love some a e s t h e t i c .

Posters are a nice way to liven up any room and add character. You can buy posters of just about anything, any TV show you love, or any band you love. Plus, if your door's open and someone walks by and sees a poster of something they too enjoy, there's an opportunity to make a new friend!

Bluetooth Speakers are a great way to listen to music with a fuller sound and bass, especially because most laptop speakers aren't made for premium music listening. Of course, headphones are great, too, for if you have a roommate and they're asleep, but if you're living in a single dorm or have your own room, invest in a bluetooth speaker; you won't regret it.

Organizers are a good way to keep things tidy while also adding color to a room! Sterilite organizers come in a wide variety of sizes and are great for putting miscellaneous things there that would probably otherwise be on the floor or that one chair you put all your not dirty but not clean laundry on. It's okay, I do it too.

Hope these tips helped! Stay comfy and cozy you guys!

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows.
