There are multiple ways of making an income. I have learned this over the past ten years although I'm still learning how to be a better salesperson. In the spirit of giving, I will share some ways of earning some extra pocket money.
I need to make a few disclaimers before I begin though.
The ways I share with you to make some extra cash in your pocket should not be used to replace your day job. Unless, you're a marketing guru, and have many fans that are strong enough to support you financially, it's going to be a tough road, but a few extra dollars never hurt anyone. Is it possible to make large amounts of money from what I'm sharing with you here? Yes, but it does take a lot of work and a decent work ethic which not many people possess.
What I do on Fiverr is write book reviews for authors. That is my only selling gig at this point, so I'll have to work on the other gigs I have posted or take them down. Other people sell logos, illustrations, audio clips, essay help, homework help, and more. Really, you're only limited by your own imagination. Also of course, by what customers are willing to buy from you.
The second site is Etsy, which has been proven to work. It's for craftspeople, so if you have a hobby it's worth looking into. As of right now, I have only made one sale through that site, but other sales have come from people looking at those items and coming to talk to me in person or through e-mail. Heck, even facebook is utilized.
Letgo is another site that was recent. I haven't personally made anything from this site, but I know some people that have. This is a site where you sell items you no longer want, like an old tv, PlayStation, movie, you get the idea.
If you're a writer there's some ways you can make some extra cash through that as well. While the ways I mention here only pay a pittance if at all, it's still something right? One of the sites you can utilize is Kindle Direct. Unfortunately, indy authors still do have a bad reputation among the general populace although some well known authors started out independently. However, I'll leave that up to you to research.
Anyway, you can set your own prices on kindle ebooks and you can do the same on the Smashwords website. You can also create your own books through Lulu or CreateSpace. Although if you really want to create your own traditional paperback or hardcover books, you're better off using your local print shop. The prices are cheaper than Lulu or CreateSpace and the books are printed in much better quality.
If you can get traditionally published though, go for it. You can look into the ins and outs of self-publishing and traditional publishing yourself. It's really up to you what you want to go for.
These are just some minor things to get you started. What works for one person may not work for another. Which will you choose to earn some extra spending money on?
