1. The abbreviation

Every school has their own abbreviation, but there were many times I was asked, “why is there an extra S?” Okay, so let me set the record straight, we use SSPP because the second “S” is from the end of the word Saints.

2. Yes, our school is a trailer

When telling my friends in college about my high school some did not believe me when I said it was built from three trailers put together, but it is true. There is nothing wrong about it at all, and looking back, I loved those trailers. Yes, the hallways were very small and you basically had to climb over people to get to your locker, but it felt more like a home then a school. It was easy for everyone to get to know each other because it was so small. And let’s not forget the fire that happened Memorial day weekend of 2013 that gave our trailer a beautiful makeover.

3. Lacrosse was our sport

At most high schools football is the main sport everyone would come out to support. Well, at Saints Peter and Paul it was all about lacrosse. If you live in the town of Easton, or go to SSPP and haven’t heard the term “three-peat” at least once you must be living under a rock.

The men’s lacrosse was at its prime during the 2012, 2013 and 2014 seasons winning the championship for their division not once, not twice, but three times. Parents, and students from SSPP and other schools would come out to watch these boys play all spring just to witness the great run they all had. And it truly was great.

Many of those players went off to play in college at schools like Towson and Hobart, and club lacrosse at South Carolina and The Naval Academy.

But it wasn’t just the men’s team that had a great run, the women’s team was just as good. Members of the women’s team have gone to play at schools like Duke, Robert Morris, San Diego State, George Mason, and Furman University. These are just some examples of the many student athletes that showed how great SSPP was.

4. Senior Privileges

Senior year is the most exciting year for anyone. You are finding out where you are going to college and making so many plans for the future, but at SSPP we had a little more to be excited about. When you became a senior, it was all about the crazy socks, patterned ties and belts, senior polos and being able to wear your boathouse in class. For the girls, they were able to wear any colored or patterned sock they wanted and not get written up. The guys could have monograms on their belts and wear any colored tie too.

And of course we cannot forget the senior polos and t-shirts. Each class was able to vote on a color they wanted their senior polo, and they were able to design a t-shirt they could wear on certain days. It was one of the highlights of senior year for sure.

5. Spirit Week

Spirit week. The most competitive week of the school year, we may have gone to a catholic school, but Spirit week was our second religion. Everyone took this week very seriously, going all out every single day to each theme. Being able to be featured in the walk at the end of the day was an honor that everyone wanted.

6. Strong Alumni

The best thing about our school is that the alumni group is so strong. Parents who went to SSPP send their kids there and do everything they can to help out with athletics, fundraisers and finding ways to make our school even better than it already is.

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
