College is a life changing experience. There is so much excitement in finally being able to discover yourself through your new independence and being your own person. But with the change to being on your own comes the horrors of being a college student, making your experience a full fledged horror movie.
1. You are usually trapped in small spaces.
Living in the dorms on campus isn’t for the faint of heart. The claustrophobia is real when it comes to sharing a 12x15 sq. ft. box with two other complete strangers.
2. You’re never alone.
Wherever you are, you will never be alone. In your room, in the library, in the study lounges and, honestly, even in the bathrooms. There are always people around you.
3. Creepy noises will keep you up all night.
Whether it be the sound of creaking floors or the loud pipes, there is always an interesting soundtrack playing in the buildings, especially when everything quiets down for the night allowing you to really concentrate on all the strange noises.
4. The grudge basically lives in your shower.
When you have 15 people sharing two shower stalls that are cleaned only once a week, the hair starts to add up. Eventually it literally looks like something is about to crawl out of the drains.
5. Jump scare tests.
There’s nothing more terrifying than going to your 500 person lecture and the professor saying “Surprise test! This test is worth 45 percent of your grade!”
6. Zombie companions.
The crazy amount of partying, studying and the lack of sleep definitely takes a toll on you. The campus looks like a post apocalyptic zombie town, especially near finals week.
7. Waking up in strange places with no memory of what happened.
Maybe you ended up falling asleep at the library after a long night of studying, or maybe you spent the night at a friend’s place after one of those huge college parties. Whatever the circumstance, there is nothing weirder than waking up in a strange place, especially when you can’t remember what happened before you passed out.
But most horror movies have happy endings… right?
