Wavering Faith

If you question your faith occasionally, it's okay

Wavering Faith
Aaron Burden

I know a lot of people are faithful and religious.I know people who believe in Jesus and others who believe in Allah. I also know there are people who don't. I have many types of people in my life, friends with faith that is strong and their love for the Lord could move mountains (you know who you are). But I also have friends who don't believe and think Jesus doesn't exist (you also know who you are). Either way, it is perfectly fine with me and I won't treat you differently. I myself struggle with faith, I don't know exactly what I believe so I want to send you a message.

If you are a believer and you are struggling with your belief, that is perfectly fine. In a group, I attended recently we talked about Peter. Peter often struggled with doubt in his faith. When Jesus was helping Peter walk on water and Peter did not believe in his ability to do so and he then took his eyes off Him. Peter often doubted the Lord, and though he doubted and denied Him he still loves Jesus. What I'm trying to say here and that even though you might waiver, question or doubt your faith it doesn't necessarily mean your love for the faith and the Lord is any weaker than it was before.

There is a friend of mine who loves Christ more than anything and I think it's such a beautiful thing. Her faith is so contagious. You can see the emotion on her face and feel it rolling off of her in waves. It's a big part of her. But she is human. She sometimes struggles with things regarding her faith but I always tell her that her love and relationship doesn't change. She still loves Jesus and He still loves her. He is a very forgiving savior, a loving, kind God. He understands that she is human, he understood that Peter is human, we are all human. He forgives you, even when you cannot forgive yourself. There is never a reason you should worry about the love Jesus has for you, it will not change. If you believe in Him and you love and have faith in Him then he will forgive you.

It is important to remember that we are all human. Sometimes we question our faith and our belief systems, we question ourselves, our motives and our emotions. It is important to remember all of those things are okay. It happens. Questioning things is part of the human condition. We are not perfect and the Lord or whoever you believe in knows that After all, he created us.

Specifically to my friend who this is about, I want you to know that your love does not waver. You still love your God and trust in him. Just because you are human and you make mistakes it means nothing. Stay strong. Keep that love and faith you have. It is one of my favorite things about you, but there are quite a few of those. That message goes for all of you, if your heart is in your faith and you have this love deep in your heart stick with it and don't feel guilty for questioning it.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

too tired to care

We've all been there. From move-in day to the first finals week in college, your first term is an adventure from start to finish. In honor of college decisions coming out recently, I want to recap some of the most common experiences college freshmen experience.

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!

Dear High School Friend Group,

My sweet angels, where would I be without you guys. We all grew up together because we either met in middle school or high school and watched each other grow up and get "old." We got to go to prom together and then graduate together. Then watched each other as we continued our lives in college, joining sororities and meeting people who will impact our lives forever. It all has happened so fast.
