There are only benefits to drinking water. And there are so many cons to drinking alcohol. So why would you choose the cons?
1. You stay hydrated.
Who likes the feeling of almost passing out because they didn't drink any water all day? No one.
2. It's acceptable at any point in the day.
Whether it is 8 a.m.,12 p.m., 8 p.m., or 12 a.m., water is cool.
But if it's 8 a.m. and you're taking shots, you might want to talk to someone.
Day drinking is too common in this day and age and it is one step closer to alcoholism.
3. It's legal at any age.
Drinking alcohol under the age of 21 is a big no-no, but drinking water under the age of 21 is perfectly acceptable. If anything, it is encouraged. You will never get arrested for drinking a nice cold glass of water.
4. You can infuse it
Water has never looked cooler. Sick and tired of the plain old taste of water? Spice it up a little bit! Throw a slice of strawberry, lemon, mint, kiwi, blueberry, cucumber, or basil in. Or if you really want to be extra, add everything! Your water will surely taste amazing.
5. You can find it (just about) everywhere.
When traveling to different countries, they're not always going to have that one bottle of fancy whiskey. You may know exactly what isle and shelf to go to in the Wine and Spirits, but traveling somewhere else it may be trickier. With water though, all you have to do is go to the faucet.
6. You could be a water tasting expert
There are wine tasting experts, but I am most definitely a water tasting expert. I can tell you what the difference is between well water, city water, spring water, and bottled water. You may look at me and say I'm crazy, but not all water tastes the same, just like a wine expert would say not all wine tastes the same.
7. You can have a cute reusable water bottle.
I'll admit, I've put some wine in a reusable Starbucks cup and showed up to a party looking fancy. But that's not an everyday occurrence. Plus, then you have to wash the cup more often. Water doesn't actually dirty glasses, your mouth and germs do. So wash your water bottle as often as you feel necessary when it comes to your germs, but if you put wine in a reusable cup, you better wash it before reusing it.
8. You can't get alcohol poisoning.
No drinking too much water and throwing up later that night. You're safe to drink as much as you want. At some point you could throw up but that's not because you're poisoning your stomach, just because it's too full.
9. You can't become a water-aholic.
There's no addiction for water. You never have to worry about it. It doesn't run in the family. It can't develop. You are safe.
10. You need it to live, so you might as well love it.
Long story short, your body needs water to survive and cannot run on small intakes of water. An obtainable goal that people follow is drinking eight 8-ounce glasses of water a day. If your body can survive on four, that's fine and same with if it needs more to survive.
