Every four years, in the summer, the whole world seems to come together. The Olympics are always special and it adds a new level of excitement and pride to cheer one's country on and bring home the gold. Bringing home the gold is a tradition that is full of honor, courage and integrity. The athletes involved have dedicated sufficient time away from their families practicing and working hard to earn this exclusive opportunity. This moment doesn’t come fast, as it takes four years for each Olympics to be held, and the buildup and excitement is always top notch leading up to the opening ceremony. Just like every other Olympic Games, the United States wants to be the dominant country to win the most gold medals. There will be fierce competition from other countries such as Jamaica, China and Russia. The U.S has always been one of the favorites to medal the most, but we will have to work hard to earn the gold through thick and thin.

There was a lot of commotion going on before the opening ceremony took place on August 5, 2016. The instability of the Brazilian Federal government, safety concerns about the Zika virus and the major presence of pollution of Guanabara Bay are among the discussions about the 2016 Games. Though these persistent problems remain, the games must go on. The 2016 Olympic Games are underway and this is a must-see television event. Which country will prevail and leave Rio with the most gold in hand? It will be fun and interesting to watch the United States claim medals against the other superpowers of the world.

We have so many things going on, all the time, and sometimes it's hard to explain to people how we feel. Personally...I'm tired. I'm sad. And I'm struggling every single day with my emotions.
