Why I Won't Be Watching 'Revenge Body'

Just like many others in 2007, I fell in love with the Kardashian family. I was fascinated with all of their crazy lives. From the very beginning they caught my attention. I was there when Kourtney found out she was pregnant with Mason. I was distraught when Khloe and Lamar went through their divorce. I also cheered when Kim and Kanye got together.

It's been a wild ride these past 10 years and it's definitely been worth it. Even though I'm a fan of the whole family, I've always been Team KoKo. She's consistently real and keeps everyone laughing. From the start, she was someone I looked up to. Her strength never ceased to amaze me and her positive outlook was something I admired. But, when her new show, "Revenge Body" came out, I was a little weary.

The show will be watched by millions and it could have damaging effects on young Kardashian lovers. The commercials advertise Khloe saying it's a "body, mind and soul" transformation. When thinking of our bodies we shouldn't look at them as weapons to use for revenge on the kid who called us fat in middle school or anyone else that has hurt us.

In the first episode, Khloe asks two contestants, Will and Stephanie, "Who do you want to get revenge on?" Will said he wanted to get revenge on an ex, while Stephanie wanted revenge on her friends that made fun of her weight. In both of these situations, it's better to just get rid of the negative people.

If people truly hurt you to the point that you would lose weight for them, they could simply find something else to tease you about. The only person you should be losing weight is for yourself. You don't need to do this to get back at your friends or ex-boyfriend. Instead of trying to show off their new bodies, Will and Stephanie should have both moved on from their toxic relationships.

It's not the first time we've seen this kind of idea for a show. Weight loss reality shows, like "The Biggest Loser," have been around for quiet some time. The show's idea isn't new or crazy. Viewers aren't running home from work to see it. In these shows, some of the contestants gain back all their weight and then some. Also, with the shock of the intense work outs and food changes, many face several issues, like changes in their metabolism, hormones or worse, behavioral effects can happen.

While the show was made to help people feel better about themselves, there was no real change in the lives of Stephanie and Will. They came into the show feeling fine and left the show feeling fine. There were no drastic life changes. They didn't seem any happier or sadder than when they first began. They were both at low points in their relationships and thought Khloe's show was the answer.

It's important to remember that our bodies shouldn't be used for revenge. No one that leaves you because of your weight is worth having in your life.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
