Who Is Jayla Koriyan?
Jayla Koriyan

Jayla Koriyan is a 22-year-old, seniorstudying Fashion Merchandising and Adverting, and Marketing Communications and was a visiting student at Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT). She is an Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority sister. She is a southern girl from North Carolina. She has been in love with the fashion world since the age of 13. She, also, dubbed herself a “College Vlogger.”

  1. She is a college student. Jayla Koriyan is a current senior in college and 22 years old which makes her life somewhat familiar and understandable. She stays on top of her work and seems to finish all her assignments on time and well.
  2. She wants to graduate on time. Just like Jayla, I am trying to graduate on time and stay on top of all the classes I need to graduate in four years. She took 8 classes last term to try and graduate early which is both amazing, and admirable.
  3. She’s a published author. Koriyan published her first book, Pretty And Educated: The College Girl’s Guide to Everything which was released July 11, 2016. Her book is an advice book where Koriyan tells young girls how to begin their lives as college students and young women.
  4. She’s a model. In addition to being an author, and college student, Koriyan models on the side at times. In one of her more recent videos, she took the viewers behind the scene with her to see what it would be like to be on a photo shoot.
  5. She’s trying to find her place. Whether it be in LA, NY, or somewhere different altogether, she is looking for a new place to live and be an ‘adult’ at. This can be seen in her vlogs of her traveling found looking at apartments in different states which are all on the pulse of fashion.
  6. Her Outfits of the Day (OOTD) and her room. Even on her “not cute days” Jayla stills throws together an outfit and slays the game (mostly, in her beloved Adidas). Her room— like her outfits— are perfect and extravagantly beautiful.
  7. Her friends. Her friends add life to her videos. They are funny and crazy and it is understandable why Jayla and everyone loves them so much.
  8. Netflix and Food. During her down time between classes, Jayla does what anyone would do. Eat lunch and watches Netflix, the fact is she does not hide that fact that she does eat fast food like Popeyes, but she also does cut some of her meals in advance.
  9. She’s real. Just like anyone in their 20’s Koriyan is running around like a chicken with its head chopped off. She has to do a ton within her days like we all do and 24 hours do not ever seem to be enough to get everything done. This can be seen in her videos when she does talk about her stress or breakdown.

Christmas Tree
History.com

Now that Halloween is over, it's time to focus on the Holiday Season. Don't get me wrong, I think Thanksgiving is great and can't wait for it, but nothing gives me greater joy than watching Freeform's 25 Days of Christmas, lighting peppermint scented candles, decking the halls, and baking gingerbread cookies. So while we approach the greatest time of the year, let's watch the 15 best Christmas movies of all time.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. Ever heard of “pain is temporary, but GPA is forever?” Pre-meds don’t just embody that motto; we live and breathe it. Here are 10 symptoms you’re down with the pre-med student syndrome.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
