If You Have A Chance To See A Sunrise, Do It

If You Have A Chance To See A Sunrise, Do It

Of the many things, I have gotten to experience on this beautiful planet, witnessing the sunrise must be the most incredible of them all.

Day after day, the sun rises and sets. We don't think too much about it because it is something that just happens. And much of the time, we are still asleep as the world awakens.

Every so often, I check my weather app to see how the morning forecast looks. Despite temperature… usually… If it seems like it will be clear or just a slight overcast, I set my alarm to about two hours before the sun is set to rise and wait patiently for it to sound.

The alarm goes off, I grab a quick bite along with my camera and head to my destination. I find that it is best to get to this destination of choice while still dark just so you can experience the entirety of the new day awakening. Be sure that your location of choice has minimal blockage. Being able to watch the sun as begins to peak over the edge of the horizon is truly the most fascinating visual. You don't want to miss it because there's a building or nature in the way.

Once I find exactly where I want to station myself, I set down my things and wait. If it's chilly, be sure to dress warmly. You will freeze, and your fingers might go numb if you plan on taking pictures.

Definitely, a lesson I wish I didn't have to learn the hard way.

As you sit and watch intently across the horizon, you begin to notice the ever so slight brightening of the night sky. Directly along the horizon, a pinkish rose with a dust of orange slowly starts to appear. The blackish, navy sky shifts slightly to a deep blue. If clouds are present, they light up with the warm tones painted along the horizon.

The time passes, and these unbelievable colors just light up the world. So used to seeing a blue sky, you can't figure out how it could be so full of color. For me, it's utterly magical. I am in awe every single time I watch the sunrise.

But the truly amazing part is just about to happen. As the world begins to wake from a beautiful night, watch with the utmost intent for the very first peak of the sun climbing to the sky.

It's a surreal experience to witness the suns ascend into the sky. So care, the ball of light rises from the horizon, with beams of light shining through the atmosphere.

A sight that looks more like a painting. So delicate, but also so powerful.

There are so many words that can be shared, and so many pictures to be found of the sun rising, but you will never truly experience the magnitude of its beauty until you witness it with your own eyes.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
