9 Moments When 'Veep' Was Almost Too Real

In This Article:

Since I am indeed a lazy college student, I have spent a large portion of my summer binge-watching various television shows. This includes a wide range of old and new sitcoms, comedies and crime-thrillers, basically the full spectrum of entertainment to keep me occupied during the particularly humid days in which I refuse to go outside.

After going through virtually all of the shows on my list, I decided to embark on a new journey and start the series known as Veep.

If you haven't heard of it before, Veep follows the life of the Vice President of the United States Selina Meyer, played by actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and her political journey as she tries to make her mark on the American government. The cast also features the sensational Tony Hale, Reid Scott, and various other members who assist Selina in her challenges.

As a political junkie, I think the show is absolutely brilliant. It's hilarious, it feels real, and the intricate relationships between each character entice the audience to watch every person undergo their own transformation. Veep not only appeals to those interested in politics, but can cater to every viewers' preferences in some way.

The series is filled with comedic moments that make the audience laugh. But, it also encourages viewers to be more politically aware and active, leaving us awestruck by some incredibly genius quotes from almost every actor.

Everyone tells you that college is hard, but they fail to explain why. Sure, classes are hard. Math sucks, and political science can be so boring. But that's not even what's killing me about college. What's killing me about college is my deterioating mental health.

As a college student, I feel as if people don't understand just how exhausted I, and fellow college students are. We have so many things going on, all the time, and sometimes it's hard to explain to people how we feel. Personally...I'm tired. I'm sad. And I'm struggling every single day with my emotions. But the thing is, it hasn't always been this way. I haven't always hated school, so why am I feeling like this now?
