NBC's drama "This Is Us" has become one of the most popular TV dramas that's currently on TV. This is a show that follows the story of one family, the Pearsons, throughout time, showing their struggles as they grow up and live in the harsh world and all that it has to offer. There are so many things that make this show remarkable.

1. The Multiple Timelines

Nobody knew that the dual timelines were happening until the VERY end of the pilot episode, when it was revealed that Jack and Rebecca's story takes place in the 70's, whereas Kate, Kevin, and Randall's is in current time. They have even shown us a glimpse of the future for the Pearsons. Since then, it's been amazing to see the contrast in Kevin, Kate, and Randall's childhood compared to their teenage years, then to their adult lives, and the show continually fills in the gaps of time to show everything that they went through, which helps us grow with the characters and better understand them.

2. The Aspect of Family

One of the strongest aspects of this show is family. This show proves that family is not all about blood, it's who is there for you and who helps you grow from your struggles. It shows the highs and the lows of family, how fitting in can be hard, especially when growing up, and how not everyone gets along in the same way. It shows just how much some people are willing to sacrifice to protect their family.

3. Rebecca and Jack's Love Story

This is one of my favorite couples on television. Rebecca and Jack just have so much chemistry, and the way that they love each other and the family that they've created is so genuine. Also, this is a rare relationship storyline, because we get to see their love story from the very beginning to the very end, and there's just something so powerful about seeing their love story unfold as time goes on. They're not a perfect couple: they've lied, fought, had plenty of issues, but they always come out stronger than ever and have one of the best family dynamics on television.

4. It Deals With Real Life Issues

Since this show is a drama about life, love, and family, of course they had to have issues along the way. But this show does such a good job at portraying these issues that people struggle with every day. It portrays alcoholism, depression, anxiety, self confidence issues, marital issues, family troubles, what it means to be a family, grief, loss, death, heartbreak, and so many more real life struggles. This makes it so much easier to believe and relate to the characters and their situations.

5. Nobody is Perfect

Something I hate in a TV show is when every character seems perfect. This show portrays the fact that nobody is perfect. They make stupid decisions, where we're screaming at the TV for them to stop. They all deal with their struggles in different ways, some healthy, others not. They all have different viewpoints on life and the things that they go through. This show portrays that they are just as human as you and me.

6. The Writing

This is a very vague reason, but this show just has such great dialogue. The way that the characters interact and the memorable quotes that can help us through the situations that we experience in our lives make this show even more impactful and emotional. The writers know the characters and what fits for them and how they will reaction to situations, so having such good writing makes the story and the show so much more enjoyable and more realistic to life itself.

7. Jack Pearson

Jack Pearson is one of my favorite characters on television. He seems like the epitome of the ideal father and husband. He is loyal, caring, loves his family more than anything, has the biggest heart, and after all that he has been through it's pretty amazing that he turned out as great as he did. I also love how he is flawed. He has problems with lying and covering up the fact that he is hurting. He struggles with being an alcoholic. He has complex unresolved family issues. But still, he remains one of the most loved characters on television.

8. They Always Leave You Wanting More

This show never bores me. No matter what situation or season they are on, this show constantly surprises me. Besides the plot twists that come pretty often, this show does a great job at making us excited to watch the next episode. Not only do they have something really dramatic usually happen at the end, but there's also always the question of what moment in time the next episode will be. We constantly wonder if we will enter the past, present, or future each episode, and how all of the timelines and situations that are occurring are connected. This show always keeps you wanting to know even more about the Pearson family.

9. The Character Development

One of the great things about the multiple timelines and stories within them is the fact that we get to literally watch these characters grow over time. We see how Kate, Kevin, and Randall act as children, then how that changes when they are teens, and then in their adult years. We get to see the good, the bad, and the ugly parts of basically their whole lives and how that affects their current characters. We get to see just how much these characters change, and we have a better understanding of why since we see what they went through.

If you haven't checked out this show and you love drama or just family TV shows or just being emotional, this is definitely the show for you and you should give it a try!

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
