Stronger
“Life’s got you down, but your feet are still on the ground.
How do you do it?
How can you be so strong when I feel like I’ve drowned?
How do you do it?”
You say, “I may look like I’ve got it together, but I don’t.”
But I try for you.
I am not really as strong as you think, but give up, I won’t.
But I try for you.”
Tears fill our eyes as we embrace.
One day we’ll be stronger.
Peace and joy cover our faces.
One day we’ll be stronger.
My family has been struggling with financial problems for approximately four and a half years now. It alternates from being "okay" to really bad, but through it all, God has provided for us and taught me a lot.
My mom and dad have been working hard to make sure we have what we need, but my mom was especially a role model for me. For mother's day this year, I wrote her this poem to thank her for everything she had done for me. She has been an example of a strong person even though it feels like everything is about to fall apart. Even though most of the stress was put on her, I rarely saw her cry, and she never talked about giving up. She told us to keep praying at all costs, and God would be faithful. I'm thankful for what she has done for me all these years. I love you, mommy.
