15 Reasons You Should Watch Parks and Recreation
NBC

Parks and Recreation is one of the funniest shows I've ever had the pleasure to watch. Lets face it you need a new show to watch on Netflix anyways and you are always looking for new ways to procrastinate that paper that's due next week, and if you aren't a procrastinator thanksgiving break is coming up pretty soon and how else would you cure that boredom? I hope that everyone gets to watch it eventually, and here's why you should.

1. As a college student, I relate to Andy on many different levels.

2. Leslie Knope

There isn't really any way to explain Leslie Knope, all I can tell you is that you have to watch the show, and appreciate that his gif is a majority of the college population trying to be positive.

3. I named my hedgehog after Leslie

This is Leslie Knope the hedgehog and I just thought you all should know that this show is good enough to name your pets after the characters. Also look how stinking cute she is.

4. Ben is the cutest thing since tea cup pigs.

I mean come on how can you not think he is the cutest thing ever?

and he is very relatable.

5. We are all April at some point in our life.

I, personally, hate almost everyone.

6. Michelle Obama was on the show, and Michelle Obama is the best.

Michelle Obama is the best thing that ever happened to this country and I agree with everything she has to say much like Leslie Knope does.

7. Chris is the most positive person on the show but we all have times when we can't be positive anymore.

This is me on a daily basis, though, to be honest.

8. Leslie is the perfect definition of a feminist.

She is all about working and making it on her own and being equal with her male counter parts.

9. Andy is the doofus in all of us.

I think we all wish we could just act like Andy all of the time and still be able to function in Society.

10. I just can't tell you enough how relatable everyone in this show is

Same Leslie Same.

11. Ron Swanson is well Ron Swanson

Ive never been good with feelings so I could not relate to this more.

12. I mean Ron Swanson

Ron Swanson is all I have to say, you should no need any other reason to watch this show if you know anything about Ron Swanson.

13. Treat Yo Self

Sometimes you just need to treat yourself, I mean who doesn't want to buy something for themselves.

14. Can we just say Leslie Knope again

I am also super chill all the time.

15. You just have to watch it!

If you don't watch it you will be sad for the rest of your days, so just watch it. we all need a break and why not fall into the netflix pit and watch all the seasons in a week.

The transition into adulthood is never easy

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
