I only wished that I watched this film sooner.

As a person who loves Nora Ephron's films such as "Sleepless In Seattle," "You've Got Mail," and "When Harry Met Sally," I am also glad that I am able to watch this film, "Julie & Julia" recently. I only wished that I watched this film sooner. Here are three reasons why.

1. Meryl Streep and Amy Adam's acting skills are great

I heard Meryl Streep was a great actress many times, and that she has won many awards. However, I haven't seen any of her films except "Julie & Julia." Her acting is what makes the film very interesting to watch. I just want to keep watching what Julia will react or do next. She is a very enthusiastic person in this film. I am very impressed of her acting and see why many people admires Meryl Streep. Besides Meryl Streep, I am also impressed by Amy Adams. In the beginning, I only watched Amy Adams in Kevin Lima's 2007 film, "Enchanted" and thought that it's fine. In the beginning, I was a little disappointed that this film did not have the star, Meg Ryan, like the other ones did, such as "Sleepless in Seattle," "You've Got Mail," and "When Harry Met Sally." Then, after watching Amy Adams as Julie, who admires Julia Child in this film, I realize that Amy Adam's acting and character are just like Meg Ryan. I adore these motivated and strong heroines. Overall, both of them have done a good job depicting these two characters in the film.

2. There's love you can idolize

Another reason that I enjoyed this film is the way on how love is portrayed. Both the characters, Julie and Julia are both married to their husbands. Both of their husbands are very supporting and loving towards their wives. Even though when Julie's husband, Eric argues with Julie and leaves, they eventually reconcile. Julia's husband, Paul always cheers Julia on. Both of these love relationships are lovely to see in the film.

3. You will feel self-fulfilled

The biggest theme of the film is self-fulfillment. Most of the time, people usually do things for people or do things to satisfy others. However, according to the film, Julie who wrote a blog of doing the Julie and Julia Project which consists of Julie doing all of Julia's recipes from her book. Julie then becomes widely known by many people, but Julie receives a call about Julia Child, who notices about Julie's blog and did not like it. Julie becomes upset but Eric tells her that the Julia Child in her head is the one who is proud of her, not the real Julia Child. At this part, this distinguishes the reality and fantasy about Julia Child that Julia thinks of in the film. I kind of feel bad for her and yet it's true that many people may not be the people that you have thought of, especially an idol. At the same time, this touches my heart when Eric comforts Julie.

Please watch this heartwarming masterpiece of Nora Ephron as well!

It's officially December. There is less than a month of 2024, and I still feel like yesterday was summer. Now comes the merriest time of the year, the Christmas season.

Everyone has been waiting for this time of year since mid-October (which is way too early, in my opinion) or before. It's a time of love, family, memory-making, and gift-giving. A lot of times when I ask friends and family what they want, I get a lot of "I don't know" or "I don't care."

I was sitting at my cubicle, now that I am an adult, looking at the rain pouring down on the windowsill, bumming on life, wishing for the rain to just stop for a full day.

There are moments where we count down the hours until work is over and how many more days till the weekend, and this many weeks until something exciting. Or something like that? Well, I was bumming because my next day off from work is not until Memorial Day weekend, which is not until the end of May. And since this is my first year out of college being a “real person,” I am totally missing the winter, spring and summer breaks. I am sure all of us have felt this way even if just for a hot minute…
