Must-Watch Christmas Specials

A countdown of my personal favorites.

I don’t know about you, but one of my favorite parts of Christmas is always Christmas movies and TV specials. Now that it’s mid-December, this is what you can find on my television. Here are my favorites!

10. Phineas and Ferb Christmas Episode

Don’t try to tell me I’m too old for this one; it’s simply not true! This is a staple in my household, and we have to watch it at least once a year. Phineas and Ferb have to step up and help Danville receive all of their presents because Dr. Doofenshmirtz has made sure that Santa cannot reach the town. You’ll just have to watch to see how it plays out!

9. Arthur Christmas

Ok, this one is just adorable. Arthur is the lesser-known Claus who is always getting overlooked by the big guy himself. However, when things get dicey on Christmas Eve, Arthur has to step out of the shadows. Does he prove himself in the end? I’m not saying!

8. House of Mouse Christmas Episode

Am I the only one who remembers this show? Maybe. I stumbled upon a copy of this gem, as I have the perk of working in a daycare with a VCR player. Mickey and the gang get snowed in at their restaurant, and they have to figure out how to bring everyone the Christmas spirit. Thank you, daycare kids, for giving me an excuse to go back to the good old days!

7./6. Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas/Mickey’s Twice Upon a Christmas

Again, these are some undiscovered treasures. Each show features three mini-episodes with our favorite Disney characters at Christmas time. It just makes you melt into a comfortable, mushy-feeling puddle of Christmas feelings, which is just what I want.

5. Richie Rich’s Christmas Wish

I am not even sure why I started liking this movie exactly. I think it’s just on five times per Christmas season, and I always end up watching every time. Richie uses a wish machine to make himself not Richie Rich anymore. It’s sort of a kid’s take on It’s a Wonderful Life.

4. Frosty the Snowman

Whoever decided to take this out of the 25 Days of Christmas lineup a few years back is a madman. I have been quoting that awful magician from the age of three… I think I actually started repeating words for over-emphasis because of him. Please give me that back!

3. Merry Christmas, Drake and Josh

Drake and Josh was a favorite of my entire family. Naturally, their Christmas movie is a classic held dear in our hearts. Drake and Josh get themselves into trouble with the law, and the only way out is to grant a little girl her wish for the best Christmas ever. This one is heart-warming AND hilarious!

2. National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation

This one is a fairly recent addition to my list of Christmas favorites. I can’t get enough of the Griswold family antics! The arguing, the stress, the insane family members- it is all too familiar!

1. Elf

Need I even give a reason for this? This has been my favorite movie since its release. We quote it. We wear Elf-related clothing. We watch it 50 times a year without tiring of it. Buddy and his delightful, child-like spirit just make me happy.

Now, go ahead and watch everything on this list (10 times each if you want!) I promise you won’t regret it!

eye roll

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"

While this question trend can get annoying, there are a couple of pros to having RBF.

Yify

Another day, another Elle Woods comment. Can’t us blondes get through the day without someone harping at us over the typical stereotypes about who we are? I never understood why a person was judged based upon the hair color they were born with, or the hair color they choose to have (unless you dye your hair blue like Kylie Jenner, I’m still trying to understand why that’s a trend). Nevertheless, as it should be assumed, not everyone is the same. Not all blondes like bright colors and Lilly Pulitzer, and not all blondes claim to identify with Marilyn Monroe. I think the best suggestion to give to people before they make such radical claims is to stop judging a book by its cover. Or in this case, stop judging a blonde by her hair color.

15 Things That Happen On Your Birthday

Do you have a small get-together or throw a big bash?

birthday party

My birthday has never been my favorite holiday. I've found that I'm more excited to celebrate my friends' and family members' birthdays more than my own. I don't like being the center of attention, so I usually celebrate over dinner with a small group of family and friends. This way, I can enjoy myself naturally without feeling like I have to entertain everyone and make sure they are satisfied. In the past when I've had large parties, I was so nervous that people weren't perfectly content that I didn't enjoy myself at my own celebration.
