Why You Should Watch 'Broad City'
Comedy Central

The season three trailer for "Broad City" has been released, and all I can say is YAS KWEEN!

"Broad City" is a comedy television show that depicts the humorous life of two best friends in their 20s. This Comedy Central show is back for the third time, and it seems better than ever. However, if you are not sure if Abbi and Ilana are your gals, think twice, because here comes a list of reasons why this is a show worthy binge-watching.

1. The Friendship between Abbi and Ilana

The love they have for each other goes beyond friendships; they are sisters, bros, and soul mates. They are willing to do anything for each other. This dynamic duo proves that you can do anything as long as you do it with your best friend. They are always supportive of each other, and help each other gets out of trouble, which is quite often for these rebels. It is heartwarming to see these best friends vs. New York City.

Example: Abbi carries Ilana out of a restaurant after Ilana has an allergic reaction to shellfish

2. The location

Yes, New York is the default location for many TV shows. However, "Broad City" is actually filmed in the city and makes numerous jokes on their love and hate for all that the city has to offer. Anyone who has been to New York will understand the charm of the city, among other things. They exploit the city as a backdrop for their crazy stories that would only make sense in New York.

Example: Abbi and Ilana catch the last subway cart and attempts to make their way to the front of the train, and they see every type of people you see in New York. You’ve got your tourists, the creeps, the couple that won't stop making out, the talented dancers, the moms with their babies and strollers, and so on.

3. The guest stars

It’s always fun when someone very well known makes a guest appearance on this show. Seth Rogen, Aidy Bryant, Amy Sedaris, Kelly Ripa and Amy Poehler all guest starred on this show, shows just how funny this show is.

Example: Fred Armisen's appearance will not be forgotten. He hires Abbi and Ilana to clean his apartment in their underwear, but when the hour is up, he refuses to pay up and acts like a baby and is shown wearing adult diapers.

4. The hardship of making it

One of deeper themes of this lighthearted show is the struggle of being successful as a young person in New York. Abby is an illustration artist whose work is not being recognized, and Ilana works at an unrecognizable sales company named Deals Deals Deals. Their careers have obstacles. Abbi struggles to find a balance between being a responsible adult and being a fun and careless young woman. Many viewers can relate to the difficulty of getting a well-paid job, or actually having money that you haven’t already splurged on ridiculous things.

Example: Trey, Abbi's boss at Soulstice, is oblivious to Abbi's desire to become a trainer and keeps referring to Abbi as the cleaner at the gym.

5. The pop culture references

This is a show for the pop culture enthusiasts. Abbi and Ilana are young women in their twenties who have the same interests as many millennials. From their love for pop icons such as Drake and Missy Elliot, to how much weed they smoke, to their confidence and empowerment for women, you can't help but laugh and fall in love with these two best friends who are just trying to live their best years and have fun.

Example: Ilana convinced Abbi to go to a super-exclusive Lil Wayne show with her, and they go through many trial and errors to get enough money for the performance.

The show premieres season three on February 17 at 10 p.m.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
